Pros of working at Bloodworks Northwest

The mission and the people.

Cons of working at Bloodworks Northwest

Upper management is completely disconnected from the staff in the field, they might learn something by getting out and talking to employees 1:1. Decisions are made in silos, stakeholders are left out. Concerns from the field employees are ignored.

Bloodworks Northwest benefits

The camaraderie from middle management down. Working for a company that is well-respected in the community.

What do you like best about Bloodworks Northwest's CEO and the leadership team?

I maybe met them once in orientation.

How would you improve Bloodworks Northwest's culture?

By empowering employees to speak up. We are educated professionals, yet we have no voice. In medicine, the “status quo” is not good enough.

How did you prepare for the Bloodworks Northwest interview?

I read about them online. I am in healthcare, I was already familiar with the mission. I talked with employees I knew.

How does your compensation at Bloodworks Northwest compare to the industry average?

salary is average. benefits are average. Wish there was more emphasis and funding for education reimbursement, attending professional meetings.

What's the diversity at Bloodworks Northwest like?

they excel in diversity hiring.

What brings you the most joy at Bloodworks Northwest?

The work itself brings me joy. The mission of the organization is a joy to be part of. The leaders who are micromanagers take away from the joy of the actual work. The co-workers are great, very supportive of one another.
