DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Place Purchase Orders per MRP system notifications. • Manage open purchase orders to ensure that suppliers deliver parts on-time, per commitment. • Maintain the system data on a real-time basis and ensure its accuracy such that it can be used to make customer commitments. • Act as the primary point of contact and oversight to major subcontracts such as metal fabrication, printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication and contract assembly. • Ensure the lowest possible cost and best quality in the market for all components is being achieved. • Negotiate pricing with suppliers by gaining market information through available media, benchmarking, and comparison with similar technologies/parts. • Follow-through on parts to ensure arrival and stocking. • Execute push-outs, pull-ins, and cancellations per MRP requirements. • Resolve discrepancies in pricing, logistics, and accounting issues with suppliers. • Lead the effort in defining a disposition plan for all parts that are placed in MRB (Non-Conforming) either upon receipt, during production, or return from a customer. • Develop recovery plan with the input of planning and engineering. Coordinate the return of defective material to supplier if appropriate. • Maintain inventory levels for purchased parts in accordance with established policies and goals throughout the product lifecycle. • Manage excess and obsolete inventory by developing a recovery or disposition plan. • Generate RFQ (Request for Quotation) followed by cost analysis to determine lowest total cost of ownership without compromising quality and customers' requirements. • Assist in selection and qualification of suppliers in collaboration with supply chain management and engineering. • Assess and recommend improvements in business processes to enable efficiencies in the supply chain. • Be a hands-on contributor, provide oversight and perform strategic planning for procurement. • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel Experience/Technical/Other Skills Requirements: • Able to interpret requirements from system specifications and/or verbal inputs for the detailed requirements of a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly. • Ability to read and interpret documents (i.e., procedures, datasheets, customer drawings and BOM). • Requires the ability to understand military specs, read blueprints and ITAR regulations. • Demonstrated knowledge of MRP systems and in-depth understanding of how they work. • Demonstrated negotiation skills, exhibiting collaborative and creative approaches. • Must have strong written and verbal communication and organization skills. • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence with minimal use of authority. • Strong analytical skills. • Strives in a collaborative, team environment. • Good understanding of total cost of ownership and how it applies to decision making. • Ability to multi-task and prioritize. • Attention to detail is a must. • Understanding of cycle counts, BOM's, ECO process, and item attributes. • Experience in ISO certified work environment preferred. • Experience with ERP systems highly desired. • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, application software such as MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet use for communication and record keeping. • Familiar with FAR / DFAR. • Other duties as assigned.
