Loyal is a clinical-stage veterinary medicine company developing longevity drugs for dogs. Our mission is to help dogs live longer, healthier lives.
We're pioneering a new category of veterinary prescription drugs that proactively and preventatively target the underlying drivers of aging, delaying the onset of disease and preserving quality of life as dogs age. We've already made significant progress in our mission to develop the first FDA-approved drugs to extend canine lifespan: as of early 2026 we've completed two of three major FDA review sections for our lead program, LOY-002, and are targeting submission of the third and final section later this year.
Loyal is a well-funded startup with teams of scientists, veterinarians, engineers, operators, and creatives. You'll help us continue on our path of earning FDA approval for the first lifespan extension medicine for any species - and change what's possible for the dogs we love.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced VP of People. You will report to our Founder/CEO and own Culture, People Ops and Recruiting functions via IC work and management of the current Loyal team. You should be excited about building structure where it is needed, eradicating it where it doesn't, and making judgment calls that balance both empathy for the team and holding an extremely high talent density.
This is not a role for someone who wants to copy-paste HR playbooks - we are looking for someone who will think from first principles about how great organizations work. You should expect that many of the formulas you have developed in your previous roles do not work at Loyal, and be excited by this!
We are especially excited about candidates who have experience working with deep tech or scientific teams, in addition to consumer and engineering talent.
What you'll do
The mission of this role is to mature & scale our people philosophy and execution, in partnership with our Founder/CEO and executive leadership team, to set up Loyal for success as we move towards commercial launch of our first longevity drug.
This will include:
Building systems to scale and reinforce high performance and culture standards. Hiring, leveling, performance management, compensation, equity, and feedback. Be the steward of Loyal's culture in moments that matter most: rapid growth, conflict, failure, and change.
Be a thought partner to leadership. Act as a people business partner to support team leaders in people management. Create feedback loops that surface problems quickly and enable course correction at both individual and organizational levels.
Care deeply about the individual, without losing the organization: design policies and structures that both maximize Loyal's probability of success and support our team individually.
Own the full Loyal team member lifecycle: from recruiting and onboarding to development, performance, and exits.
Operations: employment law, compliance, and risk handled well without over-bureaucracy.
About you
You have previously been a People leader at a scale-up company, perhaps as the leader or the leader's right hand.
You may have previously been at a deep tech, healthcare, or biotech company
You are a doer not a manager: you like building and are excited to stay deep in IC work in addition to managing a small team.
You have both high empathy and a high bar - you don't see these as in conflict.
You are ambitious and excited to work hard.
You communicate clearly and concisely.
You spike on internal communications and can give casual, clear, and compelling company-wide presentations.
Deep understanding of compensation, performance management, and organizational design.
You have helped a company cross a major inflection point (e.g., pre- to post-commercialization, or research-heavy to product-driven).
You can operate with incomplete information and still move decisively.
What success looks like
Leaders trust you as a true partner.
The organization scales without cultural drift or performance dilution.
People systems fade into the background because they work.
People understand what “good” looks like here and how to succeed.
We move faster because expectations are clear.
The company feels demanding but fair.
We treat people like adults.

Head of Policy, Advocacy, and Communications (PAC)
Clinton Health Access Initiative 4.5
Remote
The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to our mission of saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries. We work at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems.
CHAI was founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, with the goal of dramatically reducing the price of life-saving drugs and increasing access to these medicines in the countries with the highest burden of the disease. Over the following two decades, CHAI has expanded its focus. Today, along with HIV, we work in conjunction with our partners to prevent and treat infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Our work has also expanded into cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases, and we work to accelerate the rollout of lifesaving vaccines, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. We are investing in horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financing. With each new and innovative program, our strategy is grounded in maximizing sustainable impact at scale, ensuring that governments lead the solutions, that programs are designed to scale nationally, and learnings are shared globally.
At CHAI, our people are our greatest asset, and none of this work would be possible without their talent, time, dedication, and passion for our mission and values. We are a highly diverse team of enthusiastic individuals across 40 countries with a broad range of skill sets and life experiences. CHAI is deeply grounded in the countries we work in, with the majority of our staff based in program countries. Learn more about our exciting work: **********************************
CHAI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and is committed to providing an environment of fairness, and mutual respect where all applicants have access to equal employment opportunities. CHAI values diversity and inclusion, and recognizes that our mission is best advanced by the leadership and contributions of people with diverse experience, backgrounds, and culture.
Team Overview
The international development landscape has changed dramatically since the beginning of 2025, with the global health community now having to achieve results with significantly fewer resources. CHAI is uniquely positioned to elevate national voices, shape debates from behind the scenes, and leverage our deep implementation experience to ensure that advocacy on critical global health issues is grounded in practical learnings from sustained, hands-on engagement.
To help shape and advocate for this next phase of global health, CHAI is establishing a Policy, Advocacy, and Communications (PAC) function. This role has been created to design, lead, and grow the function from inception, positioning CHAI as a trusted voice and catalyst for change. The Head of PAC will drive CHAI's global vision to remove systems barriers, shape and influence policies in global health, and enhance CHAI's visibility as a catalytic thought leader and trusted partner to key stakeholders including donors, media, and partners across the global health ecosystem.
CHAI's new PAC team will focus on the following areas:
Policy: Translate evidence to influence critical global policymakers to accelerate health access and systems strengthening, anchored in CHAI's on-the-ground implementation experience.
Advocacy: Design and execute targeted advocacy strategies to influence key decision-makers at the national, regional, and global levels, securing durable policy change. Cultivate and leverage champions and influencers to amplify impact and build momentum for CHAI's priorities.
Communications: CHAI's Global Communications team will join this newly created function, which currently serves as the central hub for organizational communications. In addition to supporting teams across the organization to develop and carry out external and internal communications strategies, the new PAC team will manage CHAI's brand and voice globally-developing messaging, identifying key audiences, working with the media, disseminating reports, managing external digital platforms (including CHAI's website and social media), and collaborating with partners and donors on communications efforts.
Position Overview
CHAI is seeking an experienced, visionary senior leader to serve as Head of Policy, Advocacy, and Communications (PAC), establishing and leading a new function to drive impact through sector influence across CHAI's portfolio of 20+ global programs in 35+ countries. The Head of PAC will work closely with senior leadership, country teams, and global program teams to develop and execute comprehensive policy, advocacy, and communications strategies for CHAI. They will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership and will oversee the existing Global Communications team while being responsible for establishing and growing a new Policy and Advocacy team.
This individual will be a strategic thinker and persuasive advocate with experience navigating complex global health or humanitarian policy environments. They will have proven networks and the ability to engage senior policymakers and leaders across the international development sector, present data-driven and evidence-based recommendations, and strengthen the organization's positioning on the global stage. They will also be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team, including hiring additional staff as the PAC function grows, managing departmental budgets, and contributing to organizational decision-making processes.
As part of CHAI Leadership, the Head of PAC will play a critical role in shaping organizational strategy and positioning CHAI for the future. They will grow a high-performing team anchored by a comprehensive PAC strategy. The Head of PAC, like all CHAI leaders, will represent CHAI externally and elevate CHAI's evidence, innovations, and implementation experience, enabling partnership with governments, foundations, and multilateral institutions to drive system-wide change and achieve impact at scale.

Develop protocols, investigator brochures, SAP inputs, and essential documents tailored for investigators and staff in veterinary practice settings.
Work closely with statisticians on statistical design, randomization schemes, interim analyses, and data quality plans.
Partner with clinical operations to execute protocols with GCP compliance and serve as medical expert throughout in-life phase.

Product Security Engineer
Cedar 4.3
Remote
Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. The challenge is only getting worse, as high deductible health plans are the fastest growing plan design in the U.S.
Cedar's mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; and Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.
The Role:
Security at Cedar isn't about saying "no"-it's about building the "yes."
We are looking for a Product Security Engineer who is a developer at heart. You won't run scans and file tickets; you will write code, build infrastructure, and ship internal products that make the secure path the easiest path for our developers.
You will act as a pragmatic partner to our Maker teams, helping them ship high-value features safely without sacrificing velocity. You will solve for high-risk, high-value workflows across product, infrastructure, and integrations.
What You'll Solve: here is an example of a project that a current Product Security Engineer in this role recently shipped:
Problem:
Developers needed to troubleshoot a workflow and could only reproduce the problem if the logs were updated to include otherwise access-restricted, sensitive data.
Putting sensitive data into logs is risky, and the status quo involved tracing identifiers through multiple systems until the sensitive data could be safely retrieved. This was labor intensive and slow, while patients felt the pain of our delays.
Solution: Instead of saying 'no', we built a reusable, custom logger that could safely accommodate sensitive data. It can be temporarily enabled and stored and analyzed safely.
Impact: They partnered with a product team as an early beta tester to solve a concrete friction point. The system increased developer velocity and improved our security posture by removing the temptation for developers to log sensitive information.
What You'll Do
Build Security Tooling: Shift into a development role to architect robust tools in Terraform, Bash, Go, or Python. You'll use gRPC, GraphQL, and HTTP to build automation that eliminates manual security toil and developer pain.
Architect for Scale: Grab pairing time with product engineers to co-design features across Cedar. You will help bake security in at the design phase, not bolt it on at the end.
Pave the Road: Review Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and IAM roles, not just to find flaws, but to offer code-ready improvements that educate developers and streamline future deployments.
Advise, Don't Block: Serve as a trusted advisor. When you find a vulnerability, you don't just report it-you help scope the fix based on a pragmatic understanding of the risk and the business context.
About You
You are a developer first: You have substantial experience in software development and are comfortable writing production-ready code (we use Python and Go, but we welcome all backgrounds).
You are pragmatic: You understand that "perfect" security doesn't exist. You can weigh security risks against business goals and communicate trade-offs effectively to non-security stakeholders.
You are proactive: You don't wait for a ticket. You look for patterns in vulnerabilities and build systemic fixes or libraries to prevent entire classes of bugs.
You know the cloud: You have deep familiarity with AWS infrastructure best practices, IAM, and containerization.
You are a teacher: Your default setting is collaborative, not combative: You're excited about enabling software developers.
Bonus Points
Experience creating developer-focused security libraries or CLI tools.
Familiarity with HIPAA, PCI, or securing fintech/payment data.
Participation in CTFs, bug bounties, or open-source security contributions.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Compensation Range and Benefits
Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $157,250 - $185,000

The Role:
Cedar is seeking a staff engineer to embed in the Payments Platform team and lead technical strategy across multiple related squads. The Payments Platform squad is responsible for building and maintaining the core payment processing infrastructure that powers all Cedar applications and ensures seamless transactions for our patients. This isn't a typical Staff role-you'll own the systems that power money movement from authentication through settlement, shaping how millions of patients experience paying for care.
The Kinds of Problems You'll Solve:
Lead the development of high-impact projects in the Payment product space.
Bring clarity to highly ambiguous projects and ensure we are building for long-term scalability and robustness.
Develop a deep understanding of payment lifecycles and vendors' functionalities, identify improvement opportunities to streamline the payment experience and reduce cost.
Collaborate with your counterparts on the product, design, and commercial teams to understand patient challenges and formulate technical strategies to address them.
Drive key technical initiatives such as invoice payment decoupling.
Evaluate build vs buy tradeoffs, influence vendor strategy, and advocate for what's best for patients and the business.
Mentor engineers at all levels and uplevel them through training and sharing best practices.
Drive org-level changes to improve existing processes, infrastructure, architecture, business problems, team well-being, and development satisfaction, etc.
Why this role matters:
Payments are the backbone of Cedar's platform. Every failed authorization or brittle integration translates into real cost for patients and providers. By modernizing Cedar's payments platform, you'll reduce friction for patients, save providers money, and establish durable payment integration patterns that scale across the company.
Who you are:
8+ years of professional software development experience.
Proven track record as a backend architect-designing APIs, services, and event-driven systems that scale reliably.
A demonstrated track record of leading large technical projects that span multiple engineering teams and require multi-functional teamwork.
Experience leading vendor integrations, especially building a platform with various vendor integrations with consolidation.
Experience raising standards across teams-mentoring not just juniors but also senior engineers through code/design review, setting patterns, and influencing architecture forums.
Ability to scale solutions and build for long-term supportability
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to drive projects from ideation through to completion
Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical cross-functional teams
A natural inclination for ownership with a bias-for-action mindset
Excitement about our mission and a passion for solving problems to improve the healthcare financial experience
Payments experience sets ahead, but is not required.
What this role is not:
Infra-only engineers without product engineering experience shipping to end users
Data-pipeline-only or infra/DevOps-heavy profiles
Frontend-heavy engineers or those seeking a 50/50 full-stack role
Candidates without meaningful vendor integration experience
Compensation Range and Benefits:
Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $216,750 - $280,000
This role is equity eligible
This role offers a competitive benefits and wellness package
*Subject to location, experience, and education
