Steven (Steve) H. Grandfield is president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE). Previously, Grandfield served as executive vice president of strategy and innovation, talent, sales, marketing and products.

Before coming to BCBSNE in 2003, Grandfield was senior vice president, general manager at First Data Corporation. He currently belongs to the AIM Institute, in addition to serving on the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) Board of Directors, the BCBSA Data Committee, the BCBSA Organization and Governance Committee and the Prime Therapeutics Board of Directors.

Grandfield earned his bachelor’s degrees in business management from Northwest Missouri State, and in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska.

Grandfield is active in community service and currently serves on the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee. Previously, he served on the Ak-Sar-Ben Board of Councillors.

Chad Werner is the chief financial officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE). In his role, he is responsible for all fiscal, actuarial and underwriting functions of the company.

Prior to joining BCBSNE, Werner served as the senior vice president of finance for global financial solutions at Fiserv, previously known as First Data, before joining Intrado as its senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Health Advocate. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial and insurance industries.

Werner is active in community service and currently serves as Chairman Elect at Foodbank for the Heartland. Previously, he volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Werner earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Additionally, he holds a certified public accountant certificate.

Kerry Kremke is a Chief Security Officer - Director of Information Assurance at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska and is based in Omaha, Nebraska. She has worked as Director, IT Operations at Prairie Systems - Prairie Systems was a provider of SaaS voice and customer interaction services within the Financial, Cable, Call Center and Political markets. CSG acquired Prairie Systems in 2007.; Sr Software Developer; Operations Manager at PrairiE Systems; and Director, Network Services at CSG SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL INC. Kerry attended AIM IT Leadership Academy between 2011 and 2012, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and ITIL v3 Certification between 2008 and 2008.

Rama Kolli is vice president, information services and chief information officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) and is a leader on the company’s service and technology team.

In his more than 16 years at BCBSNE, Kolli has been instrumental in many critical endeavors, including modernizing systems, building and leading the enterprise architecture team and championing the architecture that serves as the foundation of the company’s technical future. He also was a member of the business innovation team responsible for providing strategy in addressing the challenges of the health care law.

Previously, Kolli worked as a developer consultant at noteClip in New York, Niku in Silicon Valley and at DSQ Software Ltd in India before coming to the United States.

Kolli earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Nagarjuna University, India and a master’s degree in computer applications from the University of Chennai, India. He serves as a board member for the AIM Institute and March of Dimes Nebraska and is a member of the eHealth Council of Nebraska Information Technology Commission.

Gretchen Twohig is chief compliance officer and general counsel at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE). In her role, she oversees enterprise risk management, compliance, corporate audit, legal, government relations and is corporate secretary.

Prior to her current role, Twohig served as vice president and General Counsel for BCBSNE. Before joining BCBSNE, she was a partner at Baird Holm LLP.

Twohig is active in community service and serves on the boards of College Possible and the Women’s Center for Advancement. She was also a participant in the 2006 ICAN Leadership in Action program and is a member of Leadership Omaha Class 36. Additionally, Twohig is a United Way bridgebuilder and served as BCBSNE campaign chair in 2019.

Twohig received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas Christian University and her juris doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law. She also participated in the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
