$126,900.00 - $164,700.00 We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance with expertise in allergen management to oversee the quality assurance processes for our third-party food manufacturing partners. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with food safety regulations, manage allergen risks, and implement best practices to maintain the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs and procedures for third-party manufacturers of Blue Diamond growers products.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Manage allergen control programs, including risk assessments, labeling, and cross-contamination prevention.
Collaborate with third-party manufacturers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Train and educate staff on allergen management and food safety protocols.
Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, and other relevant authorities.
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in allergen management and food safety.
This role will be based on-site in Elgin, Illinois and requires 25% travel to other third-party manufacturers as well as Blue Diamond's corporate office in Sacramento, CA.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry, with a focus on allergen management.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, FSMA).
Experience conducting audits and inspections of food manufacturing facilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Certification in allergen management or food safety is a plus.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is critical to ensuring that customer orders are shipped in full and on time by identifying, analyzing, and resolving any issues that may cause order shortages (āshortsā). Daily Shorts Management:
Investigate and resolve reasons why orders are āshortā (i.e., cannot ship in full or on time), and determine the best course of action to rectify the situation.
Root Cause Identification:
Evaluate issues such as delayed packing, quality holds, transit delays, skipped work orders, reworks, early ship dates, or lead time issues.
Systems Utilization:
Use JDE ERP software to run reports (Open Order Report, Item Availability), manage allocations, and analyze item-level data.
Reference Transplace for logistics status.
Use Microsoft Excel to build tools and dashboards for internal tracking and communication.
Inventory Monitoring:
Investigate and resolve reasons why Finished Good Inventory is on Hold and determine the best course of action to rectify the situation, in collaboration with QC/QA and OPs.
Identity potential Excess Stock risks, in collaboration with Planning and Sales. Determine best course of action, to avoid rework and alternative channel LTO sales.
Monitor and track Component Inventory; validate Expiry Dates, Safety Stock levels are accurate and physical vs system inventory is reconciled.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Collaborate with production, planning, quality, customer service, and sales to provide timely updates and ensure alignment on fulfillment status and issue resolution.
Allocation Support:
Ensure orders are properly prioritized and allocated by the required deadlines to maintain customer satisfaction and logistics efficiency.
Customer & Sales Support:
Respond promptly to inquiries from sales and customer service regarding future order fulfillment, product availability, and possible expedite requests.
Stock Transfers:
Assist in the entry and coordination of stock transfers to 3PL (third-party logistics) partners across the country, supporting nationwide inventory movement and storage.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, production planning, or operations preferred.
Proficiency in JDE or other ERP systems (preferred).

The Procurement organization at Blue Diamond Growers is on a journey to create a ābest-in-classā sourcing organization, and this role is critical in delivering on that mission. This is a very strategic and cross-functional role. Management of the CapEx and indirect categories will include everything from partnering with internal business partners to align on sourcing needs and to develop a sourcing/category strategy; identifying and implementing savings opportunities within those categories; leading SRM (including quarterly business reviews, scorecards, etc); executing RFIs/RFPs; and negotiating contracts. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the CapEx and key indirect spend categories

Drive best-in-class procurement practices for CapEx projects, ensuring value creation, cost optimization, supplier and contract compliance, and alignment with project timelines and quality standards (in partnership with Engineering Project Managers)

Stakeholder Engagement:

Job Responsibilities:
* Maintains WFM GIG policies, standard operation procedures, and quality standards.
* Performs all aspects of meat cutting including achieving margin and preventing shrink; prepares special orders and custom requests; follows assigned trimming specifications.
* Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, bison, poultry, sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats); ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
* Trains and mentors other Butchers and Apprentice Butchers including performing the duties of the Designated Instructor.
* Supervises and delegates tasks to Meat Team Members, Apprentice Butchers, and Butchers.
* Functions as point person and departmental person in charge in absence of Team Leadership.
* Assists Team Leadership with ordering and inventory management including submitting orders in their absence.
* Provides excellent customer service, addresses the needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
* Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
* Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
* Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
* Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
Job Skills
* Extensive knowledge of meat and poultry, product claims, cooking techniques, and product origins sold within the local market.
* Knowledge of living conditions of animals and the ability to educate the public on these issues.
* Excellent cutting skills with ability to break product down into sub-primal and retail cuts.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to delegate work as assigned.
* Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
* Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.

Experience
* Successfully completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or an equivalent training program.*
* Expert meat cutting experience in a butcher role, usually resulting from 3-5 years of full-time butcher experience*
* Proven track record of training and mentoring other Butchers or Apprentice Butchers.*

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
* In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
* Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
* Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
* Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
* Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

The wage range for this position is $21.55-$35.00 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
