Duties and Responsibilities

General Duties and Responsibilities:

UNDP's Nature Pledge is a direct response to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), which sets out a series of global targets to conserve and restore biodiversity for the benefit of people and planet. In parallel, the Nature Investment Facility (hosted within the Nature Hub/BPPS) has been developed as one mechanism to support the financing and delivery of UNDP's Nature Pledge and the Global Biodiversity Framework. The Facility will rapidly accelerate and upscale investment in at-risk and exceptional ecosystems (including those designated or aiming to transition as UNESCO World Heritage sites and Biosphere Reserves) by strengthening the enabling environment for and deploying tailored financial mechanisms and investments in nature-positive solutions. The Facility has been developed by UNDP, UNCDF and UNESCO. It will convene a coalition of private sector partners, Member States and philanthropic organizations to achieve its mission.
UNDP is seeking a Secretariat Manager to support the Nature Investment Facility.
The purpose of this assignment is to support the Nature Investment Facility, and wider Nature Hub team, to grow the Facility's programmatic impact, mobilize additional resources, and develop and maintain key strategic partnerships that will help deliver increased financing for nature and development programmes globally.
Scope of Work
1. Oversee the operations of the Nature Investment Facility's Secretariat
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. This includes the Secretariat's human resources, procurement, and other administrative functions.
Manage the Secretariat's budget, financial planning, and reporting.
Identify and mitigate risks related to governance, finance, operations, and stakeholder relations.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
Establish performance metrics and monitor progress towards the Facility's goals.
Provide regular reports and updates to the Steering Committee (the main governing body of the Facility) and Facility stakeholders.
Act as the primary liaison between the Secretariat, and the Nature Investment Facility's Steering Committee, facilitating official board meetings and informal partner meetings.
Deliver high quality inputs for partner and donor reports within given deadlines, and provide other inputs as required for briefing notes, knowledge management products, and other media products.
2. Lead strategic planning and programme development
Lead the development and execution of the Secretariat's workplan in alignment with the Facility's long-term objectives.
Track progress of the Facility and adapt workplan based on evolving trends, opportunities, and risks.
Ensure strategic alignment between programme development, the Nature Investment Facility's investment priorities, and financial sustainability goals.
Oversee and provide guidance for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of country programmes and initiatives.
Maintain active engagement with Nature Investment Facility programme focal points and Implementing Partners to support the development of external communications and to showcase the Facility's impact.
Ensure coordination and synergy between Nature Investment Facility and other relevant teams/initiatives within UNDP.
Effectively position the Nature Investment Facility as a key delivery mechanism of UNDP's Nature Pledge.
3. Support the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships and external communications
Serve as the Secretariat's key representative, fostering relationships with partners, government agencies, donors, and other stakeholders, and ensuring partnerships align with the Nature Investment Facility's objectives.
Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in messaging and that brand standards are maintained
Facilitate collaboration between partner UN agencies and other key stakeholders to grow the Nature Investment Facility.
Effectively represent the Nature Investment Facility at key events, presenting and furthering the Facility's interests in adequate, diplomatic ways.
Provide guidance and inputs for Nature Investment Facility engagement in international fora, including the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and other relevant international meetings and conferences.
Provide inputs to global, regional, and national workshops, regional conference calls, webinars, and website discussions as requested by the Nature Hub team.
4. Implement the Resource Mobilization Strategy
Support the implementation of the Nature Investment Facility's resource mobilization strategy.
Support the development and maintenance of the Facility's Resource Mobilisation materials (pitch deck, needs presentations, etc.).
Coordinate day-to-day fundraising efforts with private foundations and UN Member States.
Design and prepare proposals for resource mobilization that respond to the specific needs of interested donors.
Liaise with stakeholders and donors upon request, including one-on-one calls and to provide technical support, in coordination with the Nature Investment Facility team.
Prepare and support the negotiation, drafting and finalization of agreements with donors. Travel to donors to support the resource mobilization efforts as necessary.
5. Facilitate knowledge and capacity building, knowledge sharing, and advocacy relevant to the assigned thematic areas.
Identify capacity building needs and opportunities. Ensure appropriate training, project workshops and other relevant activities are organized and implemented in a consultative manner, involving technical experts and stakeholders that may include the government, private sector, NGOs, donors, and/or academia.

The incumbent will work from home.
The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Senior Nature Economist, Nature Hub. The Secretariat Head will also work with UNCDF, UNESCO, MPTFO, the BIOFIN Team, UNDP Country Offices, core and donor country governments, other international/multi-lateral organizations, and contractors;
Given the global consultations to be undertaken during this assignment, the Secretariat Head is expected to be reasonably flexible with his/her availability for such consultations taking into consideration different time zones, particularly with European and New York time zones.
The incumbent will be given access to relevant information necessary for execution of the tasks under this assignment.

Quality assurance is an essential element of UNDP's programming to support the organization in meeting stakeholders' expectations and achieving higher programmatic results.
Reporting directly to the Team Leader of the Quality Programming Team, which sits within the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) and forms part of the Global Policy Network. The assurance specialist will collaborate closely with colleagues across key UNDP units-including Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning-as well as with Regional Bureaux and Country Offices, to provide integrated support and oversight for high-quality, coherent programming, portfolio and project management.

The Specialist will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Quality Compliance and Learning
Provide support to Country Offices (COs) and Regional Bureaux to ensure the smooth execution of quality assurance processes.
Act as a key coordination point with policy specialists and technical leads to produce high-quality briefing notes, talking points, presentations, and technical summaries in preparation for internal governance forums (e.g., Executive group, Organizational Performance group meetings-OPG), the UNDP Risk Committee, and Executive Board sessions.
Ensure effective coordination of management responses and action plans related to corporate audit and evaluation recommendations, including those concerning the Programme and Project Management (PPM) system, enterprise risk management, private sector due diligence, and ERP implementation.
Coordinate the planning and delivery of capacity-building initiatives-such as webinars, clinics, and community-of-practice meetings-in close collaboration with Regional Bureaux, Central Bureaux, Hubs, and COs.

Facilitate team engagement with Regional Bureaux and Executive Board Secretariat focal points to ensure the timely submission of final CPDs and programme extensions for Executive Board clearance.
Coordinate the execution of the CPD clearance mechanism by establishing and communicating timelines, following up with counterparts, and ensuring the timely submission of required documentation.
Conduct quality assurance reviews and clear final CPD packages prior to their submission to the Executive Board Secretariat.
Maintain and update corporate records related to CPDs and extensions, including tracking quality assurance scores and keeping the relevant website and document repositories current.
In addition to the above, the quality assurance specialist may be assigned other duties as needed, to support the Quality Programming Team's evolving priorities and contribute to broader institutional effectiveness.

POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide engineering support for the operation and verification of high and maximum containment laboratories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs functional duties under the oversight of a senior engineer.
Review design submissions for laboratory or hospital-related facility renovations and new construction and will work with facility engineers, project officers, and architectural/engineer design firms to ensure safety compliance with the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) and Design Requirements Manual (DRM). This includes the following tasks: design consultation, variance request review, and safety issue resolution.
Must work closely with the federally designated engineer in the organization, eventually working more independently as knowledge and experience are gained.
Validate air balance reports to ensure proper airflow dynamics; validates facility system controls; and other safety and health related monitoring efforts.
Assist with high (BSL-3) and maximum (BSL-4) containment lab verification testing and pressure decay testing in the field on an as-needed basis.
Assist with training of Office of Research Facilities (ORF) and Office of Research Services (ORS) staff on laboratory safety and biocontainment engineering practices.
Assist with code and policy reviews of current practices to align NIH standards with good industry practices.
Support the DOHS and ORF in the conduct of plan review related to identifying safety and health issues that may arise due to the construction and/or renovation of biomedical research facilities.
Must review design/construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines, standards, or requirements for HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing systems, laboratory layouts and finishes, primary containment devices, emergency safety fixtures, and chemical storage.

BERA is positioned around three service lines: Public Partnership; Advocacy, Marketing and Communications; and Private and Finance Partners. Scope of Work
Within the context of the Philanthropy Team, UNDP requires the services of an experienced International Expert who is responsible for overseeing the management of philanthropic grants.
The Philanthropy Grants Manager will serve as a global focal point for the operational management of foundation and philanthropic grants. They will oversee the grant lifecycle from onboarding to closure, streamline donor reporting processes, , and support the development of enabling partnership frameworks. The Philanthropy Grants Manager will play a key role in scaling up UNDP's partnerships with philanthropies by cultivating strategic, co-created, catalytic, and long-term partnerships. Position purpose

Role Description
Serves as contract lead for contract administration responsibilities throughout the contract life cycle for various contract types and arrangements. Collaborate with teams on the preparation of proposals, contract negotiation, reporting requirements, change orders and contract closeout procedures.
Responsibilities
Prepare proposals and customer correspondence in accordance with commercial and Government requirements. Review and negotiate terms and conditions applicable to orders and other services provided by North Wind. Review and execute non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, certifications, and other contract related documents.
Manage compliance areas and requirements in accordance with federal regulations per FAR and DFAR. Manage contract reporting and associated plans including financial reporting, small business plans and government property system. Provide contract closeout and financial documents.
Manage contract milestones and deliverables to ensure all contract commitments are achieved. Oversee government delivery requirements as well as commercial and foreign regulations. Analyze and apply controls including CUI and U.S. export laws and regulations, including EAR and ITAR.
Provide guidance and support related to contract requirements to cross functional areas. Manage multiple critical internal and external deadlines, including short-turn requirements. Maintain company training programs for employee contract compliance.
Qualifications
Preferred Education / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline;
5+ years of related discipline;
A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
Experience with full life-cycle government and commercial contract management and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M, etc.)
Familiarity with government contracts, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
Working knowledge of U.S. Export Control and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Excellent business judgment and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to solve problems and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work well in a team setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
