Qualification Requirements

* Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
* Capable of being certified to enter confined spaces, including climbing into and out of excavations up to 20 feet in depth, using ladders or crawling, as required.
* Sufficient skill and visual acuity, under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions, to provide direction and flagging for operators of cranes with rated capacities of up to 300 tons.
* The Excavator Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.

General Description A Dozer Operator is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs on construction projects any combination of the duties described more fully, below. A Dozer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Dozer. The Dozer Operator levels and scoops soil and controls the direction and angle of the equipment to move rocks and debris.
Key Duties

* Commercial Driver License (CDL) A or B with N-tanker & X-hazmat endorsement as well as an acceptable driving record
* Drives and operates distributor truck equipped with tank to spray asphalt emulsions and/or liquid AC on road surfaces
* Connects hose from storage tank to truck tank and moves lever to fill tank with asphalt liquids
* Regulate burner to heat liquid and start auxiliary pump
* Snap or screw on spray bars to attain required width of spray
* Turn valve to regulate flow of material at specified rate and adjust levers to adjust height of spray bar from road surface
* Monitor flow gages, tachometer and temperature gauge to insure uniform distribution

* Tracks weekly production quantities for accurate weekly/monthly cost reports.
* Produces and verifies monthly pay requests with owner.
* Processes all shop drawings, submittals, and coordinates material deliveries with Project Superintendent.
* Responsible for and verifies all monthly accruals, revenue and costs.
* Schedules the Quality Control Team.
* Communicates and Coordinates with assigned subcontractors.
* Responsible for maintenance of the project schedule including materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
* Schedules and arranges for equipment moves on and off the job.
* Defines/optimizes the means and methods for the project (with the Project Manager).
* Ensures that the administrative and accounting information from the field are reliable.
* Participates at the final acceptance of the project (with the Project Manager).
* Responsible for maintenance of safe working environment.
* Oversees onsite Construction and Field Engineers.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
* Strong understanding of bridge construction methods, including cast-in-place, precast, post-tensioned, and steel structures.
* Ability to read and interpret structural and bridge design drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
* Understanding of structural load calculations, stress analysis, and safety factors specific to bridges and elevated structures.
* Skill in coordinating heavy equipment operations such as cranes, pile drivers, and concrete pumps for bridge erection.
* Strong written and oral communications skills.
* Commitment to safety, particularly with high-risk activities like working at heights, near traffic, or with heavy lifts.
* Must possess sound business and operational judgement, knows good solutions from bad solutions.
* Proficient PC skills including a proficiency in various software used such as Excel, Primavera, and SAP. Familiarity with construction industry practices is required.
* Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with project manager and on-site employees.

Education and/or Experience
This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires five (5) or more years of previous experience as a Project Engineer, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
