General Description The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical components within asphalt plants and aggregate crushing facilities. * Installation, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC's, HMI interfaces, motors, drives, other electrical components. * Test and repair of various electrical equipment. * Assist in facility startup and new equipment installations. * Involvement in the planning and execution of new wiring installations or upgrades. * Work with facility staff and mechanical department to create more operator friendly and robust systems. * Ability to effectively work within and maintain company safety standards and policies. * Other duties as assigned Qualification Requirements * General. General Description An Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for start-up and operation of hot mix asphalt mixing plants. Process involves placing raw aggregate and liquid asphalt materials through the mixing drum to be stored in silos until ready for load-out on trucks for delivery to job sites. Key Duties * Operate plant and load trucks * Assist to ensure that all safety policies are followed and implemented * Work with Quality Control Department to ensure a quality mix is produced * Assist Plant Foreman in ordering materials needed for plant operation * Assist Plant Foreman with stockpile management * Maintain all required paperwork * Communicate with road crews on an hourly and daily basis * Assist with plant maintenance * Operate loader when needed * Help maintain cleanliness of the plant site * Must be willing to work Nights and Weekends * Must be able to read, comprehend manuals and directives * Able to adjust to heights * Must be willing to help out as needed * Able to calculate basic math * Basic computer knowledge * Must have a positive attitude and eager to learn new tasks * Welding experience is a plus * Electrical/Electronics experience is a plus * Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts Qualification Requirements * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. is located at the BCI Materials Emulsion Plant in Charlotte, NC. * Follow the directions and instructions of the Laboratory Manager and the Quality Control Manager. * Conduct sampling in accordance with AASHTO R 66. * Perform daily equipment verifications as instructed by the Laboratory Manager. * Perform or assist in performing all necessary equipment calibrations as directed by the Laboratory Manager. * Testing of samples in accordance with applicable specifications, QC Plan and Quality Management System requirements. * Care and maintenance of all laboratory equipment and inventory. * Keeping the laboratory in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. * Accurate reporting of test results on their proper forms. * Completion of all documentation used to report test results (i.e. - worksheets, sample and test logs, Certificate of Analysis, etc.). * Disposal of waste material upon completion of testing. * Assist plant personnel during batch production as necessary to insure product quality control objectives are met (process control testing). * Communicating batch test results and certifications to plant personnel * Assist the Laboratory Manager in meeting compliance reporting requirements timelines as outlined in the QC plans and Quality Management System. * Assist other technicians and employees if needed * Attend and complete training as required (company, certification, etc.). * Other activities as assigned by the laboratory manager Qualification Requirements * General.
