Determine best course of action for repair. * Conduct vehicle body/frame metal work of classic vehicles, including all aspects of metal repair, including but not limited to: sheet metal fabrication, sheet metal skin replacement, frame repair, replacement or straightening and aligning of body/chassis components. * Perform finishing/body work to vehicle body and components, including application of surface fillers, contouring body shape, block sanding, fitment and gapping of body components such as doors, trunk and engine hood, rocker panels, etc. Finish body and components to ready-to-paint condition. * Perform painting services to match vehicle's original finish specification, including color accuracy/matching and surface finish quality/appearance. Buff and final finish paintwork to top show quality standards. * Maintain tracking of paint and materials used to ensure efficiency, sufficient supplies are on hand and consumed materials can be booked to a Repair Order. * Perform repair and restoration work within estimated labor times and collaborate with management in cases of deviation. Qualifikationen Qualifications Technical Must have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in fabricating, repairing, and restoring complex metal structures of vintage vehicles by mastering traditional vehicle body/frame metal work craft as well as in the field of refinishing and painting high-value classic or custom vehicles with a demonstrated portfolio of accomplishments, projects, etc. Body and Frame: * Must be able to form complex vehicle body and structural components from raw materials including sheet metal/aluminum, brass stock, die cast, stainless steel, cast iron, bronze, copper and must know the properties of each when working with those materials. * Must be able to shape and seamlessly fit repair-sized replacement body panels to vehicles being repaired. * Must be highly competent in vehicle body/frame straightening systems for repairing accident damaged vehicles or when newly constructing body/frame components. * Must be well versed in the type of metal construction techniques used in vintage vehicle bodies/frames over a broad period (100+ years) in order to return vehicles to their as-built new specification at conclusion of repair with no evidence of repair visible. * Proficiency in the following repair techniques is required: brazing, silver soldering, pattern making, fine metal work repair, Celette body/frame straightening bench setup and use, hydraulic frame straightening, body panel fitment and gapping, metal finishing including body solder and lead work. * Must have thorough competency in utilizing the following metal shaping and forming equipment: Pullmax, English Wheel, Planishing Hammer, Metal Slip Roller, Metal Shear, Horizontal Band Saw, Sheet Metal Brake, Vertical Bandsaw, TIG Welder, MIG Welder, Plasma Cutter, Oxy/Acetylene Torch Welder/Cutter, Welding Fumes Extraction Systems, Metal Grinders (Handheld and Stationary), Bead Roller, Lathe, Mill, Drill Press. Paint and Refinishing: * Must have expert knowledge of best practice vehicle body refinishing and paint methods, with emphasis on restoration authenticity of vintage European vehicles spanning decades. * Must have the ability to color match existing paintwork with no available paint formulation. * Must be proficient in the application of water-based as well as solvent-based paint materials. * Must have expert knowledge of paint application methods, tools and equipment. * Must have expert knowledge of paint supplier products and systems, e.g. BASF/Glasurit.
