Process Technician - 2nd Shift
Where we need you
2nd Shift (3p-11p) $32-$38 w/ $1.25 Shift Differential
Scrap Rates for assigned presses
Monitor actual cycle times / efficiency
Upkeep of Process Parameter sheets (Info to Engineer)
Identify Problems (Press / Robot / EOAT) Feedback to Engineer)
Logbook Entry / Pass down of shift Issues
Keep Machines clean (Purge / Pellets / Parts & Runners in press / etc.)
Identify ROOT CAUSE and put into barco at each press stoppage (accurate data)
Cleaning of the tools in assigned area (each shift )
Proper Break times and not all together
Training of Setup in process and proper startup of the presses / tools
Other duties as needed.

Purpose
The Lead Robotic Technician is a key production role responsible for the operation, coordination, and continuous improvement of multiple automated and automated manufacturing cells, including robotic assembly, anodize automation, scan box inspection, and future robotic production systems. This technician ensures stable day-to-day operations across these cells, maintains equipment health, supports material flow, and drives production efficiency, quality, and safety on the shop floor.
This role requires a highly capable, hands-on technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at troubleshooting automation and mechanical issues, and can provide leadership across a growing suite of advanced manufacturing technologies.
As a Lead Robotic Technician, you will serve as a primary technical resource across several production work centers. You will oversee daily execution, equipment readiness, part flow, and cross-functional communication to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality components for automotive, aerospace, and defense applications. You will support routine production runs, respond to issues in real time, assist with documentation, and help train and guide other technicians as the automation footprint continues to expand.
The Role
Multi-Cell Production Operations
Operate, monitor, and support daily production across multiple automated cells-including robotic assembly, anodize, scan box, and future robotic systems.
Ensure each cell meets production targets for throughput, uptime, and quality.
Maintain accurate flow of parts through automated cells to prevent bottlenecks.
Conduct part preparation activities including masking, cleaning, light mechanical assembly, and adhesive-ready prep.
Support digital assemblies and validation steps using appropriate software, tools, or inspection systems.
Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and general shop equipment (e.g., band saws, drill presses).
Support overall shop operations by maintaining organized work areas, staging materials, and assisting other cells as needed.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Perform routine operational maintenance to prevent downtime.
Diagnose and resolve robotic, mechanical, and electrical issues to minimize production interruptions.
Documentation, Quality & Continuous Improvement
Assist in creating and updating process documentation, checklists, and training materials.
Report nonconformances and support corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, equipment reliability, and overall production efficiency.
Leadership & Team Support
Act as the lead technician within each of the robotic cells, coordinating daily workflows.
Provide hands-on guidance and tactical direction to other technicians as needed.
Train and mentor junior team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to production standards.
Safety and Compliance
Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures and safe work practices.
Participate in required training and contribute to ongoing safety initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience operating industrial robots (Kuka, ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa).
Strong understanding of industrial robot operation and equipment troubleshooting.
Experience with automotive and/or aerospace assembly processes and standards.
Mechanical and electrical assembly skills with the ability to diagnose and solve equipment problems.
Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordination across production and engineering teams.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of production responsibilities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely climb ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with metallic 3D-printed part post-processing.
Proficiency with KRL or similar industrial robot programming languages.
Experience with automated adhesive dispensing systems.
Hands-on experience with 6-axis industrial robots (Kuka preferred).
Familiarity with PLC-controlled industrial safety systems and HMI operation.
Background in multi-cell or high-mix automated production environments.

Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
Maintain an organized and neat shop.

The Role

Maintain accurate flow of parts through automated cells to prevent bottlenecks.
Conduct part preparation activities including masking, cleaning, light mechanical assembly, and adhesive-ready prep.
Support digital assemblies and validation steps using appropriate software, tools, or inspection systems.
Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and general shop equipment (e.g., band saws, drill presses).
Support overall shop operations by maintaining organized work areas, staging materials, and assisting other cells as needed.

Purpose
This role is a key contributor to inspection activities, supporting complex measurements, training peers, and upholding high‑quality standards within the inspection team. You deliver accurate metrology data and inspection reports to ensure parts are compliant with engineering specifications.
The Role
Use metrology Scanners, such FARO, Romer, Creaform C‑Track, MetraSCAN, GOM ScanBox, to acquire geometrical scan data.
Process raw scan data, remove noise, and export files using comprehensive 3D metrology software such as PolyWorks & Zeiss.
Create and maintain inspection files, interpret results, and produce complete, accurate inspection reports.
Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure conformance to the requirements.
Perform inspections utilizing engineering drawings, standard procedures, calibrated manual gages/tools, and various inspection methods.
Record and maintain accurate data including inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and other quality documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Assist Leadership with other various inspections and inspection-related tasks.
Keep the Metrology Lab clean, organized, and safe following 5S principles.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls

Purpose
This role is a key contributor to inspection activities, supporting complex measurements, training peers, and upholding high‑quality standards within the inspection team. You deliver accurate metrology data and inspection reports to ensure parts are compliant with engineering specifications.
The Role
Use metrology Scanners, such FARO, Romer, Creaform C‑Track, MetraSCAN, GOM ScanBox, to acquire geometrical scan data.
Process raw scan data, remove noise, and export files using comprehensive 3D metrology software such as PolyWorks & Zeiss.
Create and maintain inspection files, interpret results, and produce complete, accurate inspection reports.
Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections to ensure conformance to the requirements.
Perform inspections utilizing engineering drawings, standard procedures, calibrated manual gages/tools, and various inspection methods.
Record and maintain accurate data including inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and other quality documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Assist Leadership with other various inspections and inspection-related tasks.
Keep the Metrology Lab clean, organized, and safe following 5S principles.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
At minimum 1 to 2 year of experience in a Quality inspector role in an aerospace, automotive, or other relevant production environment
High‑school diploma (required).
Proficient computer literacy (Windows, Teams, Excel, etc.).
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including knowledge of GD&T
Ability to lift parts up to 50 lb and operate scanning arms for extended periods.

Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to resolve malfunction, and plan work procedures

Located in Lexington County, we are proud to be an integral partner in one of the fastest growing communities in South Carolina. We are centrally located to many of the state's top destinations with Lake Murray nestled in our backyard. Our team has been manufacturing premium tires for passenger and light truck vehicles since 1981. Our facility is over 3 football fields in length, employs more than 1,900 team members and holds a variety of complex tire building machinery. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work in a team-based work environment.
Manage and mentor an impactful team for the organization within your responsibility.
Utilize problem solving tools in a cross functional diverse team to eliminate process waste.
Collect and analyze data to solve problems and help drive decisions.
Ensure products manufactured by the team comply with Michelin's quality specifications, planning model and obtention standards.
Build and implement progress plans that will improve quality performance.
Prioritizing quality performance within the realm of responsibility is essential.
Evaluate and validate all non-compliance, complaints, abnormalities, and performance deviations in the shop with an appropriate level of reaction.
Monitor and improve process controls to improve machine reliability and quality results.
Share feedback regarding compliance and standards related to the area of oversight.
Develop guidelines and standards for operators based on quality referential.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with at all levels of the organization.
Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
Effective communicator with peers, management, employees, customers, and vendors
Knowledge of problem-solving methodology (A3, Six Sigma, etc.), ISO 9000, ISO 14000, AIAG quality methodology, statistical process control, and process capability all strongly preferred.
Proficient with MS Office Applications.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment where outstanding quality and innovation are critical
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Seeking candidates with an engineering degree or quality process experience in a manufacturing environment
