About the Opportunity:
Captains greet all guests and ensure each guest is attended to in an appropriate manner ensuring consistently high levels of safety, quality, service, and guest satisfaction while maintaining a high level of profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Cruise Execution
Rotate as cruise captain on cruises and ensure adherence to procedures detailed in the Product Management Guide. This includes thorough pre-cruise preparation, adherence to cruise scripts, supervision of crew, proper piloting of vessel, adherence to all Coast Guard rules and regulations, and guest satisfaction
Gather pertinent cruise event details from the other departments to ensure special guest requests are fulfilled thereby ensuring complete guest satisfaction
Conduct pre-cruise meetings and communicate to crew all necessary information regarding the cruise (special needs, boarding procedures, etc.)
Ensure that staff and guests adhere to all safety standards and procedures
Participate in the execution of the Safety Program, including emergency drills
Participate in the proper maintenance of all ship's systems and boarding facilities including but not limited to gangways, diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, water (potable, raw, black, and gray), fire suppression, communications, and navigation
Ensure adherence to Coast Guard rules and regulations, and other federal and local rules and regulations
Ensure strict compliance to Emergency Response Plan
Execute other projects as assigned by management
Operations Team Management
Recruit non-exempt operations staff (crew) when necessary to fill vacant positions
Deliver training to new crew
Schedule crew according to staffing matrix
Adhere to Company's performance management guidelines for all discipline and termination situations
Recommend to Marine Management the promotion of crew to full-time annual positions
Develop positive working relationships with city department heads and peers
Develop strong teamwork within the staff
Guest Service
Resolve guest problems in conjunction with the on-duty Restaurant Manager utilizing strong guest service skills and exercising effective communication skills in keeping with company objectives and guest retention
Oversee the implementation and execution of safety programs in accordance with Coast Guard regulations and established Company policies
Administration
Complete all shift records: checklist, logbook, payroll, and documentation of safety training
Ensure that incident reports are completed accurately and promptly
Participate in administration of payroll system including scheduling, checking, transmitting and processing
Execute collateral duties as assigned by Marine Management: uniforms, crew training, safety training, recruiting, scheduling crew and routine vessel maintenance
Schedule crew work periods to achieve maximum payroll efficiency
Attend all scheduled meetings
Assist in accounting assistance including invoice processing

Reporting to the Restaurant Leader, the Captain ensures that guests have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. This individual has extensive food and beverage knowledge and is guest driven. Position Summary:
The Concierge Captain leads on-duty concierge operations during event days and select non-event hours, ensuring seamless delivery of white-glove service across premium touchpoints. Reporting to the Director of Premium Experiences & Engagement, this role leads the floor team of specialists and ambassadors, upholds service standards, and acts as the primary on-site customer concern point for high-value guest needs.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as Manager-on-Duty, supervising event-day and select non-event-day concierge operations across premium venues, VIP engagements, and access points.
* Liaise with MSE leaders and Premium services teams to ensure seamless knowledge capture, translation to operating concierge team, and service delivery
* Prepare and distribute event-day briefing packets, staff rosters, and arrival setups to ensure detailed execution.
* Supervise real-time communication channels and resolve guest requests as they arise.
* Become deeply knowledgeable about MSE and Capital One Arena history, venue operations, key personnel, landmark happenings, and premium business lifecycle to ensure efficiency in day-to-day performance.
* Lead, coach, and encourage part-time Concierge Specialists and other frontline ambassadors to deliver consistent, brand-aligned service.
* Enforce standard operating procedures (playbooks & SOPs) and maintain accountability for service choreography.
* Facilitate daily debriefs, synthesize shift feedback, and present insights for continuous improvement.
* Empower team members to operate at the highest level of service quality across all responsibilities and engagement moments.
* Act as the ambassador and brand voice at greeting points, ensuring every guest feels uniquely seen and cared for.
* Liaise with local partners to fulfill ad-hoc engagements and community connections, extending premium service beyond the Arena.
* Collect service insights and guest feedback in real time; collaborate with the Director to iterate on workflows and partner offerings.
* Identify operational risks and implement mitigations to preserve service integrity and guest satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
* 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, concierge operations, or venue management.
* Proven track record as a Manager-on-Duty or floor-lead, driving white-glove service and SOP adherence.
* Outstanding communication, conflict resolution, and crisis-management skills.
* Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and comfort with fast-paced environments.
* Proficiency with CRM systems and two-way guest communication tools.
* Experience managing discretionary budgets for surprise-and-delight initiatives.
* Familiarity with district-wide partnerships (hotels, restaurants, transport) and white-glove third-party coordination.
* Background in training development and front-line team governance.
Pay Range: $40.00 - $50.00 USD/hour
