Lucid Motors is currently seeking an experienced Body Repair Refinishing Technician to be a part of developing a globally recognized, best-in-class collision repair program for Lucid Motors. This position will be an evolutionary one, starting with hands-on work as the Body Repair Program Team develops and grows. It will involve working with and supporting the Body Repair Program as a whole, as well as other teams and departments inside Lucid. The Role Report to the Body Repair Technical manager, and Body Repair Workshop Forman.Perform refinishing repairs on internal use and engineering vehicles.Assist 3rd party body shops to troubleshoot paint issues either in person or through distance communication solutions (email, or zoom calls) Maintain required PPE, paint supplies for the Body Repair DepartmentValidate new tooling for the refinishing space (new paint guns, dustless sanding systems, polishing systems) Maintain EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) standards for flammable and hazardous materials handling.Perform other related duties as assigned.Comply with all Lucid safety rules, guidelines, and standards.Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.Paint Booth maintenance.
Responsibilities Be able to accurately identify PPE required for each task being performed.Identify a work process for given work orders.Accurately identify vehicle data (i.e., VIN number, paint code, trim code) needed for the refinishing process.Be able to correctly identify differences between 2, 3, and 4 stage processes.Be knowledgeable in color theory (understand how a color wheel works).Accurately identify what equipment is used in specific circumstances (what nozzle sizes for spray guns are used with specific materials, etc...) Be able to properly mask a full vehicle and limit potential overspray issues on adjacent components or panels.
Qualifications3-5 Years of refinishing experience (High-End Vehicles a bonus) Certified in one, or all of the mainstream paint lines (PPG, AXALTA, Glasurit, etc...) Valid Drivers Licensed and a good driving record.Experience working with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office skills Capable of lifting up to 100lbs.Ability to travel as needed.

This Mechanic position is responsible for repairs to all aspects of vehicles and/or school buses under direct supervision of immediate supervisor or Tech I. Repairs will include but not be limited to: preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, driveline, steering & suspension, electrical trouble-shooting and AC. Complies with Safety and compliance procedures and continues to learn new technology in advanced diagnostics, internal engine and transmission repairs. To receive training and hands-on experience to learn to perform the tasks of the trade safely and efficiently.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:**

* Works under the direct supervision of immediate supervisor or Tech I to receive hands-on training.

* Automotive repairing for school buses, motor coaches and automotive repairing, and painting.

* Performs assigned vehicle and facility maintenance related duties as assigned in a safe and timely manner

* Arranges for and obtains appropriate inspections and approval of all repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.

* Performs road calls and on the road repairs as assigned.

* Test-drives vehicles to ensure problem resolution.

* Ensures proper work methods and techniques and ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State/Provincial and local regulations, requirements, standards and specifications and company policies.

* Ensures the maintenance of a clean, safe, effective and efficient work environment including Identifying and making recommendations to resolve unsafe maintenance conditions or practices.

* Maintains work, time and material and equipment maintenance logs and records for self.

* Prepares, completes and submits paperwork on time and correctly on vehicle maintenance.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**

* Must successfully pass Tech II screening.

* High School Diploma (GED equivalent) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Two years' experience in automotive or truck technical repair hands-on and/or two years of vocational training.

* Must be 18 years of age

* Valid appropriate licenses and/or certification required to operate company vehicles in assigned location must be obtained within 90 days

* Possession of tools required for the position as outlined in the Tool Requirements Policy (except for the state of California).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform body and parts repair and installation including, replacing panels, using bondo/body filler, sanding, aligning panels, body disassembly and reassembly.
• Clean and inspect parts prior to body work and painting.
• Ability to mix coatings, thinners, and catalyst to manufacturers specifications
• Able to correct errors in application of all types of body repair.
• Identify and understand the acceptable quality of finish.
• Follow all procedures for a quality, lasting body repair.
• Color sand and polish finished vehicle finishes.
• Ensure parts and components are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
• Repair defects and report repetitive quality issues.
• Research and develop information independently.
• Read and interpret vehicle wiring diagrams, instructions, and manuals.
• Ensure parts and components are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.

• Keep all work areas, vehicles, and equipment “Neat, Clean and Organized” at all times.
• Function with a minimal or no supervision.

• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Attend training in Hazardous Materials Handling Operations with an annual refresher course.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational School a plus.
• ASE, EVT, AWS and or I-CAR certifications a plus.
• Valid Class C drives license and inability driver larger emergency vehicles.
• One year experience in aircraft, automotive, emergency vehicle or other transportation-based manufacturing as component repair technician or equivalent experience.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, understand instructions, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to read and use English and Metric measuring devices.
• Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
• Ability to read and interpret shop orders, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
• Must be able to differentiate between color shades.
• Familiar with use of PC based computer including Outlook.
• Ability to determine the proper surface condition for acceptance of paint and repair.
• Must be able to retain information taught regarding chemicals and related items and the proper usage of the same.
• Ability mix paints, primers, Bondo and other paint and body products.
• Possess basic electrical and mechanical ability.
• Fundamental use of various pneumatic tools, shop equipment and power tools.
• Proficient with use of PC based computer including Outlook.
• Ability to use basic mathematics.
• Must have knowledge of OSHA, TCEQ and EPA standards as it relates to body and paint shop operations
