Position Responsibilities Distribute and assign tasks to the assembly team based on production requirements, utilizing tools such as bar charts, flow charts, and Work Orders (W/O). Maintain and update personal and tool certifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Initiate and document planning, engineering, or tooling changes using appropriate forms and online systems. Verify the accuracy of pre-picked detail parts, drawings, and assemblies against Work Orders, Installation Plans (IP), and Bills of Material (BOM). Perform layout work and create shop aids to facilitate the fitting of parts into airframes and special projects. Utilize Precision Measuring Equipment (PME) and laser trackers to locate and align parts on assembly tools according to specifications. Execute drilling, reaming, and countersinking of holes in parts and assemblies, adhering to specified sequences and sizes. Disassemble parts and prepare them for installation by deburring holes and cleaning surfaces with solvents. Apply sealants, primers, and adhesives as required by Work Orders, Installation Plans, and specifications. Install fasteners in the correct sequence using appropriate tools, ensuring compliance with specifications and drawings. Locate and install fuel, hydraulic, and high-pressure gas lines, conducting pressure tests for leaks as necessary. Bore and ream lug and fitting holes to specified sizes using appropriate tools and fixtures. Perform rework on non-compliant parts to meet drawing tolerances, including shot peening as required. Collaborate with engineering teams to address design-related issues or modifications during the assembly process. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to workflows or tools based on hands-on experience. Physical Demands and Potential Hazards: Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs. Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
