As an AircraftStructuresMechanic, you will utilize your manufacturing knowledge to set up tools and equipment for drilling and fastening complex structures, including composite materials. You will operate various hand and machine tools, including automated equipment, to perform tasks according to specifications while ensuring safety and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include recognizing and reporting any equipment malfunctions, performing maintenance, and coordinating the movement of materials and tools. You will also cut, assemble, and install components, verify your work against specifications, and handle hazardous materials safely.

Position Responsibilities:
Review daily reports and consult with team leaders to determine job assignments and obtain necessary documentation.
Locate work areas using specified drawings and paperwork.
Verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials, ensuring they are suitable and defect-free.
Retrieve non-kitted parts from designated areas, ensuring compliance with specifications.
Use electronic devices to access work instructions and engineering data (personal cell phones not permitted).
Select and utilize appropriate hand and power tools for assembly tasks, including precision alignment equipment.
Move kits, carts, and equipment within the work cell as needed.
Load/unload jigs and operate mechanical lifts for assembly work.
Locate tools and parts on aircraft using specified methods and set up assembly tools per instructions.
Handle hazardous materials safely and dispose of them properly.
Inspect completed work for defects and cleanliness before submission for inspection.
Perform minor rework and maintain tool control in accordance with procedures.
Maintain personal and tool certifications and seek assistance from supervisors when necessary.
Set up tools and equipment for drilling and fastener installation in complex structures.
Operate various hand and machine tools, monitoring equipment functionality and performing routine maintenance.
Coordinate the movement and preparation of materials and tools for tasks.
Cut, file, drill, and assemble parts, ensuring proper fitting and quality standards.
Conduct reaming, riveting, and sealing operations, applying corrosion inhibitors as needed.
Utilize calibrated tools to verify work against specifications and ensure quality.
Manage equipment and materials within the work cell to ensure efficient workflow.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of experience working with mechanical or structures related statements of work; such as construction, aerospace, automotive, maritime or similar industry; this can include education and military.
1+ year experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
1+ years of experience using high impact vibratory tools; such as bucking/riveting.
Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity, through our IAM/Boeing Joint Apprenticeship Program, for Flight Line Mechanic Apprentice in the Puget Sound region in Washington State!
This comprehensive 4-year training program consists of 8,000 hours of paid on-the-job training and essential classroom education, designed to equip you with the skills needed to excel. The program begins with a 20% probationary period, allowing you to acclimate to the role while gaining valuable hands-on experience. You will attend school for at least 144 unpaid hours per school year (four hours each week), registered through a local Community and Technical College. Your wages as an apprentice will be defined in Article 17 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the International Association of Machinists District 751 and The Boeing Company, with progression to a higher wage step for every 1,000 hours of recorded on-the-job training until completion. Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements. Test-drives vehicles to ensure repair resolved the problem
Arranges for and obtains appropriate inspections and approval of all major repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility
Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area including ensuring work area is in compliance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements
Identifies and reports any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance including repairs and maintenance required to be performed by Technicians with a higher qualification level
Records time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate form
Advises Lead Technician of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuse
Performs road calls and on the road repairs as assigned
Qualifications
Certified technician must possess a 310T or 310S
Minimum 3 years of fleet maintenance of heavy fleet shop maintaining repair and engine rebuilds on Diesel truck or bus technical experience
Hands on experience of diesel and or gasoline engines within a fast paced large fleet bus, charter or trucking environment
Must be experienced with computerized diagnostics
General shop computer knowledge, purchasing, and budget management experience
Excellent computer skills, Word and Excel

Position Summary:
Fabricates and assembles basic tubing components for air, fuel, oil, hydraulic, and related systems of aircraft and spacecraft, according to specifications, using hand tools, power tools, rotary draw tube bending machines (semi-automatic), equipment, measuring instruments, and measuring systems. Performs work under direct supervision or with guidance of more experienced team member.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Reads work order, blueprints, sketches, and bend data charts, or works from master tubing templates to determine tubing dimensions, configuration, and finish specifications.
2. Establishes basic and moderately complex trim lines of parts and relationship of parts to each other, using master tube data, master template, and measuring systems.
3. Sets up and operates variety of manual and power machines to cut, form, swage, flare, and burr tubing according to specifications.
4. Performs single bend operations using the semi automatic tube bender.
5. Attaches fittings, such as nuts, sleeves, collars, and caps, to tubing components, using hand tools and machines.
6. Aligns, fits, and assembles tubing components in jigs and fixtures for subsequent welding.
7. Measures and inspects tubing components for conformance to customer and Stratoflex requirements using the following devices, height gauge, bevel protractor, calipers, ball gauges, stanchions, fixtures, CMM, Aicon System and visual controls.
8. Tests tubing assemblies for leaks and other defects, using pressure-testing equipment.
9. Marks identifying information on tubing, using electro-chemical etching device, label, or other method.
10. Cleans and lubricates tubing and assemblies.
11. Removes minor imperfections by use of mechanical or manual methods according to approved process instructions
