Position Responsibilities:
Define Guidance, Navigation and Control mission requirements and ensure requirements traceability and quality from the system level to component level
Use multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion, etc.) to develop and refine a complex, nonlinear, 6 degrees of freedom simulation model
Use various software languages, C, C++, FORTRAN, Python, etc. to develop, implement, integrate and test vehicle models and controllers
Design flight control laws using modern linear control design techniques and tools to achieve design and performance targets
Use advanced nonlinear analysis to assess and refine the control law design
Perform model validation against test data to inform and improve the accuracy of the simulation environment
Develop supplementary controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to properly bound the performance within all areas of the flight envelope
Work with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) software engineers to incorporate control laws into the operational flight program
Support flight simulations including desktop, software, and real time simulations
Support hardware in the loop development and testing
Support flight testing planning and execution
Lead design reviews, analyses, simulations and component/system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
Train and coach others
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
3+ years of experience with Guidance Navigation and Control engineering
Experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX to model systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Level 5: 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

QUALIFICATIONS
Strong knowledge of 120VAC control circuits, 24VDC control circuit, Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits
Strong knowledge of PLC's and VFD controlled machinery
Proficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical components
Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
Proper use of power tools and measuring equipment--must have and maintain all hand and test tools required to maintain automated equipment.
Computer proficient--Microsoft Windows based computer operation.
Must be able to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice or on weekends.
Capable of standing for long periods of time.

What you will do
Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems.

What you will do
Under minimal supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. How you will do it
Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
Consults with the customer through data gathered and site assessments. Provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment. Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.
Manages assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with branch manager, service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required ethically and professionally.
Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.
Install and modify software and graphics.
Communicates with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
Adheres to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards. Provides safety leadership and instruction to all control's technicians in the branch. Provides safety awareness while working onsite with Johnson Controls subcontractors.
Trains the customer in control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
Provides mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems. Coaches, supports and trains the technical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.
Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
Other duties related to the installing, commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems and energy management systems, as assigned.
Assists in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
Assists in developing and testing software programs necessary to operate the system per the project requirements' intent.
Compiles and/or completes project as built and close-out documentation.
Assists in the coordination and creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned.
Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

The Experience You Need to Have**:

Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements :
Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy.
Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio and telecommunications equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for electro-mechanical repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to all production and facility equipment in addition to installation of said equipment in the plant, warehouse, and office areas by performing the following duties. Electro-mechanical skill set is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.
Ensure the operational viability of the plant by evaluating and maintaining the proper functioning of all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
Involvement with process instrumentation and automation equipment specifying and selecting control equipment to maximize automation efforts.
Maintain proper documentation of electrical, instrumentation and automation systems and keep files up to date including process instrumentation diagrams, block diagrams, and drawings.
Hands on experience with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture to aid in troubleshooting
Performs ladder logic programming and troubleshooting for PLC's.
Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors and drives.
Determines the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits for electrical apparatus for repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance such as changing contacts, checking motors, and the operation of automated and robotic systems.
Adheres and actively participate in lock out/tag out practices and procedures. Keeps all documentation up to date of lock out/tag out and works with Safety Director to maintain safe practices.
Assists Operations Manager, supervisors, and maintenance lead with the operation of the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
Inspects and ensures that all operating machines and equipment conform to electrical and mechanical operational quality standards.
Requisitions tools, electrical test equipment and maintenance supplies required for plant operation.
Confers with plant manager, production manager, supervisors, and other appropriate personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines, equipment and processes.
Keeps maintenance area neat, clean and orderly; cleans up after completing maintenance work throughout the plant.
Records and files complete machine histories relating to maintenance problems and cures, troubleshooting methods, services required, spare parts and parts vendors.
Regular and reliable attendance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Knows, understands and follows all plant safety rules, general rules and procedures.
Remains current on changes in policies, procedures, and product information, attending authorized training programs and seminars.
Be available for monthly safety meetings, on-call and overtime work.
Annual, semi- annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly & daily Inspections.
Manage & distribute Maintenance PO numbers.

What you will do:
Under minimal supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. With a high level of complete technical competence, mentors control technicians, service technician and mechanical technicians on building automation activities. Properly completes required project and service documentation. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service
How you will do it :
Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
Consults with the customer through data gathered and site assessments. Provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment. Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.
Manages assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Interfaces with branch manager, service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner.
Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.
Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
Adheres to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards. Provides safety leadership and instruction to all controls technicians in the branch. Provides safety awareness while working onsite with Johnson Controls subcontractors.
Trains the customer in control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
Provides mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems. Coaches, supports and trains mechanical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.
Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
Other duties related to the installing, commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems and energy management systems, as assigned.
Assists in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
Assists in the development and testing of software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
Compiles and/or completes project as-built and close-out documentation.
Assists in the coordination and creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
Programming and configuring control systems and devices (such as PLCs, DDC controllers, and variable frequency drives).
Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, laptops, and specialized software for system analysis.
May provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system.
Participates in release meeting with project field team.
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
What we look for:
Required
Vocational School two-year program graduate, an Associate's degree in a technical field, or two years' experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems.
Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC control systems, including the ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control sequences to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
General computer and computer networking knowledge.
Understanding of basic IT networking concepts for integrating control systems.
Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and work independently or as part of a team.
Willingness to keep up-to-date with new technologies, equipment, and industry standards.
Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26.44/Hour-36.54/Hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
