SUMMARY The Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technician is distinguished from the Electrical and Instrument Technician in that the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Technician will also provide a high level of technical support to the control system equipment, system software, and application software that controls the process. Other duties as assigned Controls Improves existing controls, streamline operator tasks, increases machine productivity and troubleshoots as needed for ongoing issues. Utilizes DCS engineering stations to maintain and modify machine control logic, human machine interfaces, control hardware and machine communication networks. Ensures all machine control system device programs and settings are backed up on a regular basis to a known and readily available central location. Maintains all electrical schematics to ensure changes are recorded and that all library copies are accurate and available to all members of the E&I department. Assist with developing data acquisition historian reports and trends. Also, perform historian system maintenance. Perform resource functions for E&I technicians, including scoping, engineering and ordering parts, as needed. Maintains and troubleshoots all machine instrumentation and electrical systems up to 4200 VAC, as needed. Configure, troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, variable frequency drives and soft-starts up to 4160 Volt. Installation, calibration and troubleshooting of pressure, level, flow, temperature, consistency, conductivity, turbidity and pH transmitters. Tuning of process control loops and machine control systems. Programming and troubleshooting of DCS, PLC and HMI interfaces. Perform configuration and logic modifications to DCS and PLC control systems. Modifications will include programming in ladder logic, block logic. sequential logic and statement logic. Troubleshoot and diagnose configuration and implementation of integrated and stand-alone graphic human machine interfaces. Troubleshoot and diagnose specification of communication protocols, including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet. Design and implement process control strategies including regulatory control, control sequence, logic, and advanced control for both continuous and batch processes Develop, modify, and enhance HMI Monitor control system performance, which includes loop analysis and tuning Implement new control system technology Support process problem solving by identifying sources of process upsets and other anomalies Develop and maintain alarm systems Support capital projects. Understanding of generating electricity with a diesel engine is a requirement. The Ride Maintenance Mechanics perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and annual rehabilitation of a variety of different amusement rides and attractions. Areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to) maintenance of: gearboxes, chains, sprockets, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, wire rope, hoists, brakes, pumps, and large bearings. Climbing and working safely at height is an essential part of this job. Responsibilities: Performs daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required inspections of amusement rides and related equipment as assigned; taking corrective actions as issues are identified. Inspections are visual as well as auditory. Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspects, repairs and tests amusement rides and related equipment. This may include repair or replacement of major components such as hydraulic cylinders, gears, chains, sprockets, pneumatic cylinders, hoses, brakes, clutches, wheels, bearings, gearboxes, springs, or a wide variety of other mechanical devices. Trouble shoots a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems and takes appropriate corrective actions. Properly follows all repair procedures and maintains accurate documentation of all repairs. Maintains orderly and accurate records of all required inspections and work performed, and submits required paperwork to supervision in a timely manner. Communicates the status of assigned rides both verbally and in written format. Maintains all assigned equipment in a safe and ready condition according to all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and best practices. Works safely and efficiently on all assigned tasks, coordinates with other as necessary to achieve desired results. Performs a variety of other tasks depending on experience including welding (Mig, Tig and Arc) and fabrication; sets up and operates lathe, mill, drill press, grinder and other metal working equipment. Reads, understands and applies information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair and or component replacement. Accurately reads blue prints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic). Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
