Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking to provide students of Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) with the opportunity to join our 787 production teams working as an Assembly Electrical Mechanic in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift. Your BPET Instructor Endorsement Form will outline the specific roles for which your course qualifies you for a direct offer of employment. Primary Responsibilities:
Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.

Ensure your work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First Pass Quality (FPQ) and is free from FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
Use computers and software applications in a production environment.
Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Wear required protective clothing/equipment for the task you are performing.
Operate various mechanical lifts (e.g. ladders, scissor lift and aerial lifts).
Use chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and finishes.
Be able to climb/balance (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawl/crouch (squat).
Work around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and potential exposure to constant noise.
Read from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents.
Carry/Lift up to 35 pounds.
Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handle, kneel, bend at the waist, reach (overhead), rotate head/neck, stand, twist at the waist and walk.
Route of wire harness to supports per blueprint instruction & Boeing specifications for the 787 program.
Build connectors, splice wires, crimp, and terminate wires.
Install connectors to receptacles and electronic components.
Perform repairs and rework processes to incorporate authorized changes outlined by engineering instructions.
Perform fiber optic clean and inspection, light loss testing, routing and installation.
Perform Bond & Ground operations to include CRNs, jumpers, ground stud installation & resistance testing.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre-Employment Training course that is certified for the BPET Assembly Electrical Mechanic role.

Position Responsibilities:
Perform fabrication and/or assembly processes on the airplane to build and assemble wire bundles, electrical shelves or panels as required.
Determine set-up and the materials, parts, standards, and tools required for job by reviewing information from multiple sources (e.g., ECAT (Electrical Corrective Action Team), ERU (Electrical Response Unit), Electrical Connector Assembly Diagram (ECAD) or Engineering drawing as required.
Determine work sequence, parts tracking, etc. as required.
Prepare materials, parts, standards, and tools as required, from Parts Control Area (PCA), satellite storage carts, roto bin, or other location. Ensure that parts selected are correct for the part number/airplane and are free of visible defects.
Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.
Performs complex wire harness repairs and re-work.
Executes Supplier wire bundle modifications and bundle changes.

Remove and replaced circular, rectangular, in-line and quick disconnect connectors.
Install and re-work pressure feed through fittings.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $90,950 - $123,050
