Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to:
Permitting & Regulatory Support - Assist with permitting processes and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Site & Infrastructure Design - Support grading, earthwork, roadway, and utility (water, wastewater, gas) design efforts.
Design Drafting & Technical Documentation - Prepare design drawings, maintain project records, and contribute to preliminary engineering reports.
GIS & Data Modeling - Develop and maintain GIS databases and perform computer-based engineering analyses.
Construction Cost Estimating - Contribute to accurate budgeting and cost estimation for engineering projects.
Construction Support - Participate in inspection duties to ensure quality and compliance during construction phases.
What We Are Looking For
Academic Excellence - bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or within one semester of graduation) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Certification & Experience - You have earned your Engineer Intern (EI) certification.

Your Opportunity
The role of a Civil Engineer in Community Development is to design a wide range of public and private development projects under the guidance of a Project Manager with a team of designers and/or EIT's.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Perform civil engineering design including layout/geometry, grading, drainage, roadways, paving, water, sewer, and erosion control on public works projects.
* Perform civil engineering design for private clients including industrial and commercial site design, and subdivision design
* Assist with preparing complete submission packages, supporting calculations, and quantity and cost estimates for project entitlement and construction documents.
* Assist with agency follow-up/coordination during the review approval process.
* Participate and assist with project team coordination.

Your Key Responsibilities
Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water conveyance projects across the Southwest.

Management of existing client relationships and development of new client relationships. Lead, or contribute to, project scoping, value analysis, and cost estimating meetings.
Supervise the work of engineers and other project staff, including setting priorities for their scope of work, task budget and schedule deliverables for completing the work in collaboration with the Project Manager(s).
Evaluate, select, and specify civil and mechanical engineered systems or products for projects. This includes but is not limited to pipe material selection, pump selection, valve selection, as well as application of said systems.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Participate and/or lead value engineering approaches and project constructability reviews.
Serve as the Project's point of contact with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
Engage in leadership of professional organizations that align with professional expertise; write technical papers and deliver technical presentations at conferences and symposia events.
Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Sound understanding of conveyance design principles, including planning, design, and construction, such as:
Sewer collection design including experience with diurnal patterns, open channel hydraulics, bypass sewer design, manhole design and rehabilitation, flow diversion, and flow metering
Water distribution and transmission main design with rigid and non-rigid pipe materials including welded steel pipe, ductile iron pipe, PVC, HDPE, and concrete pressure pipe and cylinder pipe.
Pipeline rehabilitation methodologies including CIPP, pipe bursting, and pipelining
Familiarity and design experience with trenchless construction methodologies such as HDD, microtunneling, auger boring.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
Experience with various project delivery methods and construction methodologies, especially trenchless applications, is preferred.
Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
Experienced with the use of hydrologic and hydraulic network modeling and design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, InfoWORKS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, in accordance with expertise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree desirable.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water conveyance projects across the Southwest.

- Participate and/or lead value engineering approaches and project constructability reviews.

- Engage in leadership of professional organizations that align with professional expertise; write technical papers and deliver technical presentations at conferences and symposia events.
- Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Sound understanding of conveyance design principles, including planning, design, and construction, such as:- Sewer collection design including experience with diurnal patterns, open channel hydraulics, bypass sewer design, manhole design and rehabilitation, flow diversion, and flow metering
- Water distribution and transmission main design with rigid and non-rigid pipe materials including welded steel pipe, ductile iron pipe, PVC, HDPE, and concrete pressure pipe and cylinder pipe.
- Pipeline rehabilitation methodologies including CIPP, pipe bursting, and pipelining
- Familiarity and design experience with trenchless construction methodologies such as HDD, microtunneling, auger boring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Experience with various project delivery methods and construction methodologies, especially trenchless applications, is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Experienced with the use of hydrologic and hydraulic network modeling and design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, InfoWORKS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, in accordance with expertise.
Education and Experience

The Role You'll Play
You won't just design runways-you'll help design what keeps people and goods moving throughout New Mexico. As a Civil Engineer in our Aviation Group, you'll work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to support airport projects through every phase-planning, design, and delivery. Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Design experience in runway/taxiway layout, airport planning, drainage, or airfield lighting is a plus
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Excel
