The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing clinical support to patient care working directly with a supervising provider or physical therapist. They deliver patient care by providing expertise in injury assessment, bracing, rehabilitation and return to play/functional training, coordinating and providing direct patient education, plans of care and treatment and supports providers in scheduling and documentation.
Essential Job Functions
Provides support to daily clinical treatment of patients. Assists physical therapist in implementing treatment plans.
Supports and provides guidance to patients with exercise programs, treatment plans, bracing and scheduling.
Manages and coordinates injury prevention programming for athletes as well as cash based, functional return to play programming.
Helps manage physician's clinical throughput by coordinating care with outreach athletic trainers, physical therapists and other medical professionals.
Documents injury treatments and plans of care.
Maintains competency by participation in continuing education, in-services and other learning opportunities.

PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION
The RD Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is a clinician prepared to manage the diabetes population at specific clinical site(s) to support long-term diabetes health. Position responsibilities include identifying the population at risk for diabetes complications; intervening to close care gaps through active collaboration with providers; implementing individual and group diabetes self-management education/training (DSME/T); supporting patients with diabetes (PWD) in changing self-care practices to achieve diabetes health; and participating in quality initiatives of the BSPDH to improve the DSME/T program.

Overview

All Sentara Armed Security Officers possess the ability to exercise discretion regarding the use of their weapons, only utilizing their weapon in times of extreme attack when ALL non-violent options have been exhausted.
The Armed Security Officer actively monitors Concealed Weapons Detection System(s) at division entrances. In the event a weapon is found, the armed officer will inform the visitor/patient that the weapon is not allowed in the hospital. Officers may secure the weapon for the duration of the persons' visit for safekeeping. Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The outpatient Registered Dietitian (RD) performs each step of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), including patient assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, monitoring and evaluation. Employment Qualifications
Education/Experience: Baccalaureate of Science in Nutrition from a university offering an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics granting a bachelor's degree. Successful completion of an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship Program, providing at least 900 hours of supervised practical experience. Current Virginia Drivers' License. Experience in Community, Primary Care settings and/or experience working with diabetes patients Certified Diabetes Care and Educator Specialist- CDCES Skills/Abilities: Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidence-based methods and practices of primary care delivery, with an emphasis on health promotion and risk reduction. Superior leadership, organization, research, evaluation, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the use of computers, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Desire and ability to update knowledge and skills through various means including technology-based opportunities, courses, workshops, and conferences. Multi-tasking skills related to the delivery of efficient primary care including the ability to share information and teach while treating a patient. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be open-minded and non-judgmental. Knowledge of the goals and structure of Bon Secours Mercy Health, including its policies and procedures and the programs. Equipment Used: Computer, printer, scanner, fax, photocopier, telephone, AV equipment including video projection unit, and a variety of teaching aids including various glucose meters, insulin pens, keto-sticks, and insulin syringes.
