    Role Synopsis We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Facilities Engineer to support the BPX Permian Operations team. The Permian asset is the focus of significant annual capital investment for 2025 and beyond, with a long-term plan to profitably grow production and optimize our well management strategy. This role will work closely with field staff, other engineers, and management to apply Production Engineering practices to maximize the value of the Permian asset. This role will be responsible for executing a consistent facilities performance management cadence, with specific focus on the safety, reliability, and modification of facilities in support of broader Permian Operations Objectives. The Permian Operations engineering team is based out of Denver, CO. Key accountabilities Perform brownfield project level and rapid response engineering across the Upstream Permian Operations Organization. Drive production efficiency and process safety improvement by actively supporting operations with Management of Change, HAZOP / LOPA, design reviews, and procedure development. Embrace and pioneer the Intelligent Operations model, cultivating an interdependent culture and a relentless pursuit of continuous improvement through effective root cause analysis. Lead and cultivate the relationship between engineering and field operations to identify systematic improvements and eliminate repeat failures. Participate in risk assessments inclusive of HAZOP / LOPA to eliminate personal and process safety risks through effective implementation of the hierarchy of controls. Responsible for facilities engineering processes, ensuring efficient and effective integration with front line field personal for all accountable execution activities including procurement and specialty 3rd party coordination. Work closely with maintenance and operations teams in performing RCFA and defect elimination to continuously improve facility reliability and integrity management. Provide positive leadership while being a team player, and share lessons learned across disciplines and between business functions. Provide facilities engineering expertise, by performing multi-discipline engineering activities through technical practices across multiple disciplines in the design and execution of small projects, maintenance, or operations support. Participate in BP technical networks and communities of practice, maintaining a strong awareness of technical learnings and developing links with specialists and engineers from a range of disciplines. We will expect travel to the field approximately 25% percent of the time to meet with the field team and critical contractual partners. As part of an integrated facility including Refinery and Chemical plants, Machinery Engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of rotating equipment, including extruders, hyper-compressors, turbo-expanders, steam turbines and cogen facilities.     Job Responsibilities * Provide technical expertise to resolve and prevent equipment issues, leading or participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) to ensure timely and effective corrective actions. * Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems. * Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of instrument and control equipment, including DCS, MKVe, and programmable logic controllers. * Analyze and report on plant and system performance using operational and maintenance data. * Develop and review Planned Maintenance (PM) activities for all control systems. * Oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. * Troubleshoot plant issues and recommend solutions using technical expertise. * Identify and solve complex technical problems promptly. * Complete additional duties and administrative tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager. * Write project scopes and material specifications. * Provide budgetary support for assigned projects. Required Skills / Knowledge * Solid understanding of power plant operations, maintenance, and performance calculations * Experience maintaining and troubleshooting DCS, Mark Ve, PLCs, and field devices (transmitters, control valves, meters, process analyzers) * Strong computer skills (spreadsheets, databases, word processing, project software) * Effective oral and written communication; able to clearly explain complex issues to management and peers * Analytical skills for identifying causes of failure and solving technical problems * Safety-focused, with a commitment to team and personal safety * Ability to understand contractual issues related to plant operations and maintenance * Capable of working independently and as part of a team; able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities * Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to respond calmly in emergency situations Experience * Progressive work experience in electrical power generation or related fields, 4 years minimum.
