Bond Clinic, P.A. company history timeline

1948

Bond Clinic was founded in 1948 by four physicians, one being Doctor Benjamin Bond.

1949

The first office was established in June 1949 at the corner of Avenue A N.W. and 3rd Street.

1954

By 1954 the clinic expanded from four to six physicians.

1972

In 1972, a group of concerned Community residents, representing the Bond Elementary School and area churches, formed “The Bond Community Management Committee” for the purpose of coordinating efforts to improve the quality of life within the community.

1978

In 1978 Bond moved to its current main campus location, which was expanded over the years.

1981

In 1981, after many years of planning and community assessments, a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), provided funding to open the Smith-Williams Services Center.

1984

On May 22, 1984 during a Bond Community Management Committee meeting, Doctor C.E. Richardson—a practicing physician who was reared in the area, presented a draft of a proposal for CDBG funds to operate the clinic.

1993

By 1993, the clinic had seen tremendous growth, and began entering a phase of transition.

1994

Bond Clinic became the Bond Community Health Center in September 1994 after receiving funding from the U. S. Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resources, and Services Administration.

2007

In 2007, the clinic opened a satellite location at 199 Avenue B, NW, in downtown Winter Haven.

2015

In 2015, our long awaited East Campus was opened and became the home of our Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy Departments.

2016

In 2016, our Davenport Campus was opened and was our first full-time campus outside of the Winter Haven area.
