Under the direction of the State Parks Division Region 6 Deputy Regional Director, this position performs moderately complex (journey-level) park management work. Responsible for the preservation, protection, administration, operation, and maintenance of Bonham State Park. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all medical data is entered promptly and accurately.
Support Veterinarians: Assist veterinarians during exams, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures. Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment.
Medical Supplies: Manage inventory of medical supplies and controlled substances
Emergency Care: Provide urgent care when necessary and support the clinic's emergency protocols.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited institution.
Licensing: Valid veterinary technician license (LVT, RVT, or CVT) in Texas.
Experience: 3 years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred. 5 years plus, if not licensed.
Skills: Proficient in veterinary medical terminology, animal care, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift animals and equipment up to 50 pounds, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in specialty areas (e.g., surgery, dentistry, emergency care) is a plus.

Work Schedule:
4 days per week (32 hours) with 1-2 half days, Saturdays (seasonal dependent) per month
Paid “on call” may occasionally be required in the case of rare overnight hospitalizations.

Responsibilities
The duties performed by Masters-at-Arms include:
Conducting waterborne security patrols and interdiction operations.
Performing U.S. Customs inspections and base security patrols.
Implementing aircraft and flightline security standards.
Conducting law enforcement operations and river security missions.
Providing protective services to high-ranking dignitaries and government officials.
Supervising K-9 explosive and narcotics detection operations.

What to Expect
MAs may serve at shore stations in the U.S. and overseas, aboard ships, or as part of maritime expeditionary security squadrons. Their work environment varies widely depending on individual assignments.
Work Environment
MAs spend about 60% of their time assigned to fleet units and 40% to shore stations over a 20-year career. They may serve in expeditionary security locations worldwide, providing landward and seaward security in support of Joint Service operations.
Training & Advancement
After completing Recruit Training, MAs attend a 10-week A school in San Antonio, TX, where they learn antiterrorism techniques, armed sentry/post standing techniques, crime prevention, military and civil law, physical fitness, communications, first aid, firearms deployment, and physical restraint techniques. Promotion opportunities are excellent for motivated personnel.
Education Opportunities
MAs can earn college credits through the American Council on Education for courses taken in this rating. The USNCC also offers degree programs that support educational and career
advancement.
