By teaming up with Scholastic Book Clubs, we provide children in grades K-6 who are living in poverty or low-income households, the opportunity to choose and own books. Over 31 million children are living in low-income families in America. In middle-income neighborhoods the ratio is 13 books per child-in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio is one book for every 300 children. Book Trust uniquely delivers unbounded choice and ownership of books to children in poverty, increasing their literacy skills and fostering life-long learning.
