POSITION OVERVIEW The Accountant II supports month-end close and day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and reliable financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting as needed Assist with audit requests and prepare required schedules and supporting documentation Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable workpapers Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with implementation Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Provide backup support for corporate credit card and expense account reconciliations as needed, ensuring accurate coding, timely reconciliation, and compliance with company policies QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals Construction or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred Demonstrated experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) / percentage-of-completion accounting Experience with ERP or accounting systems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred) Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment EQUIPMENT & APPLICATIONS /WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting for Extended Periods - Working at a desk for long hours while using a computer or handling paperwork.
