You get to work with a lot of different people and network with a lot of different departments so there are opportunities to move around.
In my experience, the pay was very poor for the responsibility, risk, and demand of the job while also navigating a toxic environment ran by poor management.
Sometimes high rollers will tip you.

The average has apparently raised since I was there, which is good! If sites are correct, it looks like starting pay is closer to 15 an hour now while they boasted raising it to 10 and hour back in the 20-teen when people were already demanding 15 an hour. After 6 years of work their from 2013-2019 I left making 11.68 an hour, so I took home less than 1,000 a month. I was not the lowest paid at the time by any means.
I did not feel under-represented as a white woman or anything, so for it being Shreveport-Bossier city, the demographic that lives there represents the workforce as well. They did go for the "welcome home" atmosphere and it was there.
I loved some of the people I worked with, they made coming in and dealing with all the stress and drama of the workplace worth it a lot of the time.
