Lateral candidates may be placed within existing bargaining unit agreement vacation accrual rates or closest to their current vacation accrual rate but may not exceed the vacation accrual rates they are currently earning. This lateral transfer incentive policy also authorizes Human Resources to front load (40 hours) of vacation accruals at the start of the first pay period following the date of hire. In accordance with Section 10.5 of the Personnel Rules, employees are entitled to vacation leave with pay in the amount of accrued vacation or compensatory time after satisfactory completion of 30 calendar days of service with the City.
B. Sick Leave Accruals This incentive would authorize Human Resources to offer a lateral transfer to front load the equivalent of six months of sick leave accruals (48 hours) at the start of the first pay period following the date of hire.
