Job purpose
This position will provide support and assistance to the Industrial Solutions Quality Engineering group to ensure the quality and integrity of components and/or products. Facilitate and support Flawless Launch of a new product.
Key responsibilities

You're the right fit if:
You've acquired 2+ years of experience in quality inspection (preferred) in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g. automotive, aerospace, medical device). Experience with simple measurement and calibration tools required (micrometers, calipers, etc.). Experience with simple measurements, and document measurements required. The pay range for this position in Menands, NY is $21.27/hr. to $34.04/hr.

Required Training, Knowledge and Experience:
* This position, although technical in scope, assignment and direction, is not typically occupied by an academically trained or registered engineer.
* Metrology laboratory and inspection experience preferred.
* 3+ years-related work experience preferred.
* Must possess excellent computer and communication skills.
* Associates Degree or equivalent combined educational and work experience.
Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job:
* Must be able to maneuver (lift/carry/push) as required 35-160 lbs on regular basis
* Use lift assists and carts, as required, to transport tanks
* Nothing that would prohibit overnight or extended travel.
* Ability to travel (including air travel and long automobile trips).
Working Conditions:
* Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently push up to 160 pounds.
* Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory and / or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer to lead and support the implementation of a robust Quality Management System (QMS) for a startup production line. This role is critical to ensuring a "flawless launch" by establishing and maintaining quality processes, procedures, and compliance standards with a "first time right" mindset. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, a collaborative team player, and a subject matter expert in ISO 9001, UL safety requirements, and other applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion and ensure safe working practices are embedded in all processes.
* Serve as the Voice of Quality (VOQ) and primary Quality representative.
* Own and manage the DFMEA/PFMEA/Control Plan relationship as it pertains to Quality Engineering.
* Lead investigations and resolve complex quality issues through cross-functional collaboration.
* Conduct reviews of work results at key milestones and product launches.
* Act as a recognized expert in specific commodities and/or processes.
* Follow and promote established procedures and industry best practices.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lead business process enhancements.
* Support / implement assembly line improvements and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA) and process controls aligned with safety and Mfg standards.
