Facilitate and support Flawless Launch of a new product. Key responsibilities * Drive quality improvement efforts with internal processes to achieve "zero defect" performance. * Ensures internal customer needs for projects are met in a timely and appropriate manner. * Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis, provide recommendations for corrective actions and communicates results. * Responds, investigates, and resolves day-to-day quality issues in a proactive manner. * Assists process improvement and problem-solving efforts with focus on protecting and improving product quality. * Documents 8D activities. * Support FAI/PPAP process * Support the release of machines and processes. * Conducts process audits and supports control plan activities by reporting key characteristics. * Supports PFEMA and DFEMA by participating and contributing input. * Supports containment activities through SAP material transfers, blocking material, initiating inspection plans, coordinating sorting efforts and communicating sorting criteria & methodology to others. * Supports scrap investigation, review, and disposition of parts including data entry and collection. * Utilizes/interprets measurement system analysis (gage R&R, linearity, etc.). * Applies knowledge of inspection techniques to provide timely and accurate data in order to make decisions. * Communicates with SDE/SQE to relay and evaluate data between the supplier and internal customer * Perform other duties as needed. What we're looking for * Team player that can excel in a dynamic environment and deals with ambiguity well * Completion of high school or equivalent. * Provide expert analysis, guidance, and support to production-in-process improvement initiatives. * Proficiency in the use of gaging * Understanding and ability to interpret GD&T required. * Working knowledge of measurement equipment selection and inspection is required. * Completion of technical training in Quality or Machining is preferred. * Three years' experience in manufacturing environment is preferred. * Knowledgeable in SPC, Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAPs is preferred. * Knowledge of ISO 9001 is a preferred. * Familiarity with Metrology and CMMs preferred. * Minitab experience is preferred. * Machining experience is preferred. * Attendance on the job is essential. * Proficient computer skills - MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word. * Able to manage multiple priorities. * Excellent communication skills. * Knowledgeable in problem solving skills (i.e., Paretos, Fish Bone, etc.). * Develop metrics to promote customer satisfaction and management reviews. * Willing to work off shifts if required. * Possible travel required: 5% - 10%. * Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations. You're the right fit if: You've acquired 2+ years of experience in quality inspection (preferred) in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g. automotive, aerospace, medical device). Experience with simple measurement and calibration tools required (micrometers, calipers, etc.). Experience with simple measurements, and document measurements required. Experience with inspections and audits in some capacity is required with training available as needed (Welding inspections, pressure testing, hydro testing, HIPOT testing, etc.). Experience inspecting with Coordinate Measuring Machine's (CMM) preferred but not required. Experience with SAP, Windchill, and MS Office preferred. Support the Quality Control Supervisor to elaborate corrective actions by working directly on the cause. Support the QC Supervisor in the implementation and verification of corrective actions. Assist with supplier complaints investigations. Work with our QC Supervisor to prepare customer and supplier claims/complaints. Assist Process Manager 10 with the management of measuring instruments and calibration guides. Assist the technical department with quality assurance testing. Assist the QC Supervisor with the maintenance of the documentation system (Elaborating, modifying, applying, and removing documents) Participate in any additional improvement projects defined by the immediate supervisor or IML Labels.
