Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis (BGSP) in Boston, Massachusetts, is one of the only graduate schools in the country that offers purely psychoanalytic training for future mental health clinicians. Academics include master's and doctoral degrees in Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Counseling. BGSP also offers a one-year continuing education certificate for therapists who would like to get psychoanalytic training. Both master's and doctoral students complete clinical hours at a mental hospital or other mental health facility. BGSP operates a therapy center, as well, which offers low-cost services to area residents. BGSP students may also participate in the Student Association. Members of the Student Association help to coordinate professional and social events and other college life activities. To apply for admissions, applicants will need to submit an application along with three letters of reference, transcripts and a piece of academic writing. Applicants may also need to interview with a BGSP faculty member. BGSP awards loans to students who are in good standing with the Department of Education. A FAFSA is required for loan consideration. Students may also apply for institutional scholarships and other types of financial aid. BGSP also offers tuition payment plans.
