1881

The Boston Home was founded in 1881 by Cordelia Harmon and Rev.

1915

If your house was built before 1915, it will be included in this Volume 9 Sanborn Map at the Library of Congress.

1921

Your "Old" pre-1921 House Number: On January 1, 1921, Detroit renumbered all the addresses in the city, so that the numbers were consistent from block to block.

If your home was built before 1921, you'll need to know the "old" address when using any pre-1921 resources.

1922

Clarence Monroe Burton's The City of Detroit 1701-1922 features biographies in Volumes III, IV, and V (All volumes are available online: Volume III, Volume IV, and Volume V).

1936

Back issues from 1936 to the present are available.

1966

Post-1966 building plans have been microfilmed by the City’s Inspectional Services Department.

2005

In 2005 The Boston Home opened B.Fit!, a day program of wellness and socialization.

2019

In May 2019 Harmon Apartments opened its doors with thirty-six apartments.

2021

Unfortunately, these materials are unavailable until at least mid-2021 due to a renovation at the library.
