JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist-Registered JOB HOURS: All Three Shifts The Radiologic Technologist-Registered performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic radiographs. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required. The individual is trained and a graduate from a certified Radiologic training program and capable of performing patient care for the age groups: 0-105 years old.
The Radiologic Technologist-Registered reports directly to Radiology Chief Technologist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education:
a) High School graduate or equivalent.
b) Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school.
c) Rad Techs working 3rd shift must successfully pass CT certification test to receive CT pay. Qualifications to sit for the CT exam are as follows: Candidates for Computed Tomography certification and registration must document performance of a minimum of 125, choosing 25 different procedures out of a list of 59 various procedures.
2. Licensure/Certification:
a.) Entry level Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
b.) Rad Techs must pass their CT certification test within 12 months of completing their on the job CT training at BRHC.
c.) CPR required for patient care.
3. Work Experience:
a.) Rad Techs working 3rd shift must be able to complete x-ray and CT exams.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
1. Responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures. Responsible for HRI functions as they relate to Diagnostic Radiology procedures. Responsible for assisting Radiologists with procedures as required.
2. Responsible for patient, peer, and personal safety. Responsible for communicating information about patient examinations, schedule, patient's condition and equipment to the appropriate individual.
3. Responsible for inter and intra Departmental relations. Responsible for maintaining professional communication.
4. Responsible for conservation of supplies. Responsible for operation of radiographic equipment and processors and reporting problems appropriately.
5. Responsible for continuing education in accordance with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) classified as Non Exempt The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) plays a vital role in supporting the clinical team by providing direct patient care and performing essential technical tasks in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ED Tech assists nurses and physicians with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures, ensuring that the Emergency Department operates efficiently and those patients receive timely, compassionate care. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
The Emergency Department Technician reports directly to the Charge Nurse/Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or equivalent training is preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required.
Work Experience:
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an emergency department, is preferred.
Skills:
Strong technical skills, including the ability to perform basic clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and familiarity with medical equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
Patient Care Support:
Assist in the triage process by taking vital signs, collecting patient history, and preparing patients for examination and treatment.
Perform basic patient care tasks, including wound care, splinting, phlebotomy, and EKGs, under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
Assist with the placement and maintenance of intravenous (IV) lines, catheters, and other medical devices.
Monitor and document patients' conditions, reporting any changes to the nursing staff or physicians immediately.
Clinical Procedures & Equipment:
Set up, operate, and maintain medical equipment used in the Emergency Department, such as monitors, suction devices, and oxygen systems.
Assist in the preparation and execution of emergency procedures, including resuscitations, trauma care, and other critical interventions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are readily available and in good working order.
Patient Transport & Mobility:
Safely transport patients within the Emergency Department and to other areas of the hospital as needed, ensuring proper handling and support.
Assist patients with mobility, including transfers to and from stretchers, wheelchairs, and beds, following safe patient handling guidelines.
Documentation & Communication:
Accurately document all patient care activities, including procedures performed, vital signs, and patient responses, in the electronic health record (EHR).
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing clear information and responding to inquiries with compassion and professionalism.
Participate in shift handoffs, providing detailed reports on patient status, care provided, and any concerns that need to be addressed.
Support for Nursing and Medical Staff:
Assist nurses and physicians during examinations and procedures, anticipating needs and providing necessary supplies and instruments.
Maintain stock levels of medical supplies and restock rooms as needed to ensure continuous patient care.
Support the nursing staff in emergency situations, including providing CPR and other life-saving measures as required.
Compliance & Safety:
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including infection control, patient privacy, and emergency preparedness.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Report any safety concerns, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel promptly.
Other duties as assigned.
