General Purpose

Essential Functions

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Full-Time Unit Clerk to support the day-to-day administrative and clerical operations of our Medical/Surgical Unit. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth communication and documentation flow between departments, clinical staff, and patients. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the communication hub for the Medical/Surgical unit, handling phone calls, messages, and coordination with other departments

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, medical records, and unit logs
Transcribe physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
Input data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

Monitor patient assignments and bed tracking systems
Uphold patient confidentiality and hospital standards in all communications

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience as a Unit Clerk or in a healthcare administrative role preferred
Proficiency with computers, data entry, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel)
Familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems strongly preferred
Telemetry Certification REQUIRED
