Responsibilities: Facilitate learning experiences and teaches the course of study as outlined by the District approved curriculum; utilizes innovative and differentiated instructional strategies to meet individual needs and motivate students; and plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom using the approved District instructional model and adhering to state and school district curriculum guidelines. Provide specialized instruction and research based intervention in the areas of academics, behavior, social emotional learning, and executive functioning. Implementation of IEP services and behavior plans. Manage and direct the work of paraprofessional and/or volunteers who support IEP implementation. Accommodate, modify and adapt work in alignment with the student's IEP. Provide appropriate support for students with physical, health/medical, or safety needs. Develop and implement an IEP for each student on the caseload, monitoring dates for compliance. Includes coordinating all IEP meetings including annual, initial evaluations, re-evaluations and additional meetings for students on the caseload and maintaining compliance with IEP implementation. Complete progress monitoring and coordinate progress reports for all students on their caseload, including those at report card times and at IEP reviews. Collect and analyze data using multiple assessment tools, formal and informal for Initial and Re-evaluations to guide eligibility determinations and IEP development including behavior planning. Utilize Data Driven Instruction and Inquiry (DDI) model to systematically improve student learning ; assess student proficiency using formal and informal assessment tools; differentiate assessments based on individual needs; provide timely feedback and targeted interventions; plan and consistently deliver instruction that draws on results of student assessments; anticipate student misconceptions and plan lessons accordingly; report grades. Collaborate with families, paraprofessionals, and other service providers. Create and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment in which all students see themselves represented in the classroom and understand the behavioral expectations; implements procedures and routines that maximize student learning; respond to student misconduct in a respectful manner using restorative practices and safe de-escalation techniques; actively seek a variety of perspectives; demonstrate mutual respect for peers and adults in a variety of contexts; and communicate and involve parent/guardians in all aspects of their child's education. Create and support a culture of equity and inclusion that values, accepts, and understands diversity and the impact of culturally responsive practices. Understand and identify barriers in classroom instructional practices that contribute to disproportionate outcomes for underrepresented groups of students. Develop positive relationships with parents/families; encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents; provide proactive, clear and constructive feedback to families about student progress and work collaboratively with the families and significant adults in the lives of their students; and foster two way communication with families. Exhibit a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning; actively participate in the evaluation process through goal setting, reflection, and development of new strategies and techniques. Qualifications: Required: Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in: Early Childhood Special Education (must upload license or in process documentation to application). Candidates pursuing a TEE Authorization may be considered if no qualified candidates possessing the required endorsement for this position apply. Meet and maintain the requirements for Large Center Director Qualification as required by Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Child Care Licensure, including but not limited to CBI/FBI, Trails Background, Out of State Background, Current Health Statement signed by a medical provider, CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, Medication Administration, and alll required pre-service trainings. Responsibilities: * Manage the daily operation of the program by taking student attendance and knowing where children are at all times. * Monitoring enrollment, ensuring daily safety of children, monitoring staff-to-child ratio, effectively handling student discipline by establishing and maintaining clear, consistent and fair limits on children's behavior and implementing and maintaining positive guidance and discipline techniques set by program. * Complete, manage and maintain state required records and reports by adhering to licensing guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Boulder and/or Broomfield County Health Department and School District policies and procedures. * Design, coordinate and implement age-appropriate activities for students that are aligned to District elementary academic and social-emotional curriculum. Engage students in enrichment activities, educational activities, games, field trips, homework support, guest speakers and presenters. * Collaborate with the school staff to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs, ensuring ADA compliance for students with disabilities and promoting a welcoming and supportive environment for culturally and linguistically diverse students. * Supervise site based staff by monitoring, directing, assigning workload, training, implementing student disciplinary actions, addressing complaints, resolving problems and completing employee performance evaluations. * Hold daily, weekly and monthly staff meetings to review schedules and address relevant issues and team building. Maintain staff files per State and School District guidelines. * Identify program needs at the site level and create itemized lists for resources, training, supplies, etc that can be turned into the SAC Coordinator for review and approval. * Secure building, equipment and program per School District and School Age Care guidelines. Qualifications: Required: * Meets education and experience requirements for a School Age Care Child Care Center "Program Director" (called SAC Supervisor in BVSD) as established by Colorado Department of Human Services Code of Regulations (7.712.42A). * Four year college degree with a major in recreation; outdoor education, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education, or a subject in the human service field. Copy of transcript required. * OR * Two years of college training in any major and 910 hours of verified experience supervising children.
