Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Mental Health Technician Trainee at the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois. The incumbent will, for a period of time from six and not to exceed twelve months, receives training and instruction and performs entry level, routine personal care services, educational, social, vocational and therapeutic activities in the treatment and habilitation of intellectually disabled individuals at Shapiro Center. Shirkey Vet Clinic opened its doors in 2007. We are a general service animal hospital and welcome pet patients needing routine medical, surgical, and dental care. We have provides years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care. Beyond first-rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable, kid-friendly, and calm.

Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help have them 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.
Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed.
Length of externship is flexible & we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.

Eligibility
Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Veterinary School
Must be able to provide student PLIT
