The Athletic Trainer (ATC) is responsible for assisting Physicians and/or Mid-level Providers in the clinic setting and in other settings such as the hospital and within the DME department. Duties include: fitting and education of all Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as prescribed by the physician, the application and removal of casts, coordinates and advises on all aspects of the DME program including insurance and billing. Acts as a liaison between staff, physician, and DME supervisor and manager. Assists in general maintenance of equipment, supplies, and exam rooms. Checks EMR for progress notes and stat orders, prepares charge tickets and acts on any stat orders. Enter DME charges with appropriate modifiers based on insurance requirements.
