Purpose
Work with management to prepare and finalize project deliverables and contract documents in accordance with the company standards, municipal / jurisdictional requirements, survey standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
* Perform work under limited supervision. Receive direction on complex assignments with general guidance on execution. Work is generally reviewed by more senior staff to ensure the application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
* The position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a lead/resource among a team of colleagues in equivalent roles to share technical proficiency, guidance, and mentorship. May occasionally assist in delegation of assignments or provide feedback to managers.
At the Operational and Company Level
* Interact professionally with internal and external clients.
Do the Work
* Prepare working drawings from ALTA surveys for final approval and submission.
* Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to start and complete projects with limited supervision. May manage multiple projects at one time.
* Convert all applicable data into electronically generated drawings and project documents with accuracy, neatness, and speed.
* Perform horizontal and vertical computations for boundary surveys and analyses of field location and record information.
* Read and understand client requests, municipal / jurisdictional standards and specifications, other project related documents and ensure they are adhered to.
* Draft final house location surveys from survey crew field notes and personal field measurements of building improvements.
* Compute horizontal and vertical positions of planned buildings, streets, curbs, etc. for stakeouts. Compile and complete.
* Check record plats for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review.
* Submit plots to various municipal / jurisdictional agencies for review.
* Use knowledge of ALTA Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, residential and commercial construction stakeout procedures and practices when performing work.
* Perform a variety of complex computations for traverse, record plats, boundary surveys, construction stakeouts, horizontal control, etc.
* Conduct research using Google Earth, VDOT and/or GIS and data from other agencies.
* May complete land development related surveys as well as boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, construction layout, and subdivision layout (traditional land development work).

* Demonstrated proficiency in land surveying and/or surface modeling software such as Carlson, Bentley Inroads/Geopak, Revit, or similar civil engineering design software.
* Surveyor-in-Training certificate preferred.
* Relevant survey licensure a plus.

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 111,200.00 - Max Salary $ 166,900.00
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
* Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
At the Operational and Company Level
* Assist with marketing of the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing developers, builders, and government agencies.
* Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements.
* Keep informed of new methods and developments affecting the organization and recommend new practices or changes in emphasis of programs.
* Partner with offices across the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.

* Perform project development for complex land development projects, including finalizing scope of projects, preparing bid summaries, preparing project budgets and cost estimates.
* Prepare and direct preparation of designs, specification, plans, estimates and reports for projects.
* Review job cost sheets and prepare monthly billings. Ensure assigned projects stay within budget allocation.
* Be responsible for the monitoring and management of work-in-process, billings, and outstanding accounts receivable collection efforts.
* Maintain healthy client relationships and possess solid operational insight for driving projects and executing deliverables.
* Maintain close relationships with clients to resolve all project questions including technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries.
* Assist with marketing presentations and attend marketing meetings.
* Assist Team Lead, Director, and/or Branch Manager in securing repeat business from existing clients and identifying new clients.

Your Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Estimator at Stantec, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating large electrical cost estimates. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of cost estimators, schedulers, and construction engineers in Stantec's construction engineering group. You will be responsible for coordinating teams of discipline estimators, and the position will frequently require the direct estimating of at least one other project discipline. - Knowledge in one or more of the following estimating disciplines: High Voltage, Solar, instrumentation, Process Plants, AACE guidelines. National Electrical Code.

This is a technical leadership position that focuses on constantly engaging and improving the quality and technical excellence of the team.
The successful candidate will work directly with the existing team on a multitude of mining/industrial projects worldwide. The candidate will focus on mentoring and supporting the technical development of the group and serve as a senior advisor and reviewer to projects and clients globally. In this capacity, the candidate will have a strong direction to manage and support project success both externally to our clients and internally with our staff.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and/or advise on technical aspects of mining and mining infrastructure projects, business development, and proposal activities (contribution of high-quality technical content expected during all stages).
- Contribute to the development and execution of the water resources team's technical practice and actively contribute to the maintenance of Stantec's quality standards in a process of continuous improvement.
- Provide technical expertise and lead technical delivery on a variety of projects ensuring successful outcomes for our clients and beneficiaries.
- Establish and grow productive, collaborative relationships internally within the company, and externally with the team's priority clients
- Participate in all phases of project management including program development, budgeting, planning & design, preconstruction, project implementation, project oversight and project closure
- Lead, challenge, and inspire technical staff through substantive engagement and communication (including coaching/mentoring young professionals).
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Support Stantec's brand awareness through thought leadership and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications for Internal Candidates- Experience and capability in the following areas are strongly desired:
- A strong background in mine water management, mine closure, and feasibility studies for the mining industry is essential.
- Planning, designing, and managing the design and construction of surface water infrastructure including proven experience integrating civil and geotechnical engineering concepts. This may include mine site planning/grading design, site climate and hydrologic assessments, design of site stormwater conveyance infrastructure (channels, ponds, and culverts), mine site water balance analysis, and dam breach analyses.
- State and Federal regulations pertaining to water management.
- Project management includes developing detailed budgets, determining project scope, establishing schedules, processing appropriate paperwork, and interacting with clients.
- Marketing and preparing proposals and assisting in preparing and providing presentations.
- Understanding the CERCLA and RCRA process for environmental related projects.
- Ability to successfully guide and oversee the technical aspects of multiple projects in parallel.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to clearly convey and distill complex technical information to a variety of audiences
- Possession of the following personal leadership qualities: integrity, creativity, patience, tenacity, commitment
- Team player with experience building, leading, and managing a team of project managers and support staff. Having an "open-door" policy.
- Strong business network, both in the United States and internationally.
- Fluency in English required. Additional fluency in other languages such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally periodically for short-duration assignments (typically one to two weeks)
Education and Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant increasingly responsible experience.
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in civil, environmental or water resources engineering with emphasis in water management.
- Experience leading and developing teams and people in successful project execution.
- Subject matter expert in mine water management.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred
