Boyett Petroleum company history timeline

1962

In 1962 the Boyetts bought Richfield Oil distributorship, also in Modesto.

1970

In 1970 Stan and Carol’s son, Carl Boyett, joined the family business.

1985

Ken next joined Capital Cities Cable acquiring right-of-way agreements for the cable television system it was constructing in Burlingame, CA. In 1985 when promoted to manage the company’s largest cable system Ken moved to Modesto.

1989

Scott Castle is a Sonora native, but moved to Modesto after completing his service in the Army in 1989.

1993

In 1993, Dale began his career in the petroleum industry, working alongside his father to grow their 10 employee company, to over 150 employees.

1998

Ken Berns, VP Wholesale Marketing, joined the company in 1998 after previously heading Modesto’s cable television company CableOne.

2001

Scott began his career with Boyett Petroleum in 2001, joining the company as the Assistant Controller.

2004

In 2004, Dale became the President of Boyett Petroleum and has driven the company’s substantial growth.

2005

John Kruse joined the Boyett Petroleum team in May 2005 as the Chief Financial Officer.

2007

Katie Hollowell joined Boyett Petroleum in 2007 as its general counsel and now serves as the Chief Legal Officer and Assistant Secretary.

2008

In 2008, Boyett Petroleum acquired wholesale distributor Toms Sierra Company.

2009

Clark joined Boyett Petroleum in 2009 and is responsible for purchasing fuel, dispatch and some of the sales related activities.

2011

In 2011, the company introduced the CRUISE Americard, a universal fleet fueling card, which is accepted at over 230,000 service and fuel locations nationwide.

2015

In 2015, the company purchased fuel distribution contracts for ninety Valero and 76 gas stations from MCW Energy group.

2019

Hollowell is a member of the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America and the California Fuel + Convenience Alliance and in 2019 she joined the board of directors for CFCA.

In 2019, the company announced its new branding deal, that will see 10 of its retial stations in the Modesto metropolitan area being renamed from "Cruisers, Cruise In, Cruise Out" to 76®. the rebrand was set to take place in the fourth quarter of 2019.
