Account Advisor
to perform the associated duties which support and accomplish the accreditation process for all accreditation programs. This person will educate customers on the flexibility and capabilities of ACHC, in order to develop customer relationships that promote retention and loyalty. Responsibilities include:
Provides Customer Service support to all clients from first point of inquiry through all phases of the accreditation process for all programs.
Processes accreditation documents through all phases of the process within established time frames listed in this position description and in accordance with established policies and related Work Instructions.
Scores data collection documents and develops clear, concise summary of findings, including appropriate recommendations to customers.
Reads and understands all program standards and accreditation policies and procedures.
Reviews and recommends changes to department policies and associated control documents to maintain the integrity of departmental processes.
Revises policies and control documents, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum two-year Associates Degree (Bachelors preferred) in a business related field with three years of relevant work experience in a business setting, or a high school education with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a business setting.
Prior Customer Service experience required, with proven success in building and maintaining positive working relationships.
Experience working with computer systems with proficient use of database and other office system programs; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills a must, as are attention to detail and organizational skills.
This position is located in Cary, NC with hybrid remote-working privileges. Compensation includes base salary + bonus.

Overview
An employee in this class manages a team that oversee special projects and activities that contribute to a statewide Parks and Conservation program, including recreation, education, interpretation, volunteer, non-profit and/or resource management projects. City government offices are located in the Takoma Park Community Center, at 7500 Maple Avenue - a ten-minute walk from the Takoma Metro Station, on multiple bus lines, and accessible by bike and Capital Bikeshare.
The Planning Internship opportunity is open for qualified candidates, 30-40 hours/week, up to 12 months. Pay is $18-$20 per hour. The City telework policy allows for pre-approved remote work up to 60% time.
Minimum Qualifications
* Graduated with a master's degree within the past two years, or currently enrolled in a graduate program in urban and regional planning, community planning, architecture, urban design, urban studies, economics, real estate development, geography, or another related field; or comparable work experience;
* A strong interest in active transportation, equitable community development, smart growth, or inclusive public space planning;
* Flexibility and desire to work on a wide range of planning projects, as needed;
* Experience interfacing with public constituents in diverse communities;
* Basic proficiency with data management software such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, or Seamless Docs;
* Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva;
* Proficiency with GIS mapping software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or R;
* Strong writing, digital communication, and interpersonal skills;
* Self-motivated, problem solver, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Additional Skills
* Foreign language proficiency (especially Spanish, Amharic, or French);
* Demonstrated knowledge of equitable outreach and engagement principles and practices;
* Advanced proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva;
* Advanced proficiency with GIS mapping software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or R;
* Valid U.S. driver's license (and comfort driving a municipal vehicle).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role is situated within the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation (BAMR) at the Cambria District Office. You will provide assistance to project designers with collecting field information including water, mine spoil, coal refuse sampling and measurements of pipes, culverts and stream flows. In addition, you will utilize the principles of environmental/mining engineering, geology, mine design, mine and plane surveying, hydraulics, soils engineering, civil engineering, and other engineering methods to assist design staff in determining design methods and calculations needed to solve acid mine drainage remediation and abandoned mine land problems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2026 through 8/28/2026
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on a schedule that aligns with the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Ebensburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Internship Requirements:
Enrollment in good academic standing as a FULL-TIME student in a bachelor's, or advanced degree program in:
Environmental Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mining and Mineral Engineering
An approved major course of study at an accredited college or university.
Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
Freshman year completed by May 2026
Pennsylvania residency or enrollment of a Pennsylvania college or university.
Additional Requirements:
You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
