Position Title: Youth Development Professional (YDP) - Cycling Education (Reports to Unit Director) - Baxter Luther
Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Salary: $20/hr., 5 days/week & 5 hrs./week (some evenings and Saturdays)
Description Summary
The YDP - Cycling Education is responsible for the safe and effective operation of The Baxter Bikes Educational Program. Responsible for the preparation, planning, delivery, and direction of The Baxter Bikes Educational Programs Curriculum. Curriculum will include teaching bicycle safety, trail and track etiquette, basic bicycle maintenance and repair, bike riding skills and technique, and cycling fitness. Also responsible for completing monthly participation/progress reports, data reporting, management, maintenance, promotion, and operation of The Baxter Bikes Single Track and Bike Shop and The Outback Pump Track facilities.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
This position's primary responsibilities are:
Safely operate the Outback Pump track and Baxter Single Track facilities.
Initiate, direct, manage, and administer The Baxter Bikes Educational Program curriculum to BGCNF members.
Provide safety and supervisory training to visiting BGCNF Club staff members
Schedule and confirm BGCNF Club visits to the Baxter Bikes Educational Program.
Provide safe, supervised, limited public access to The Outback Pump Track, and special pump track events, with a focus on building community relations, healthy lifestyle choices, and increasing ADA.
Develop partnerships with local bicycle shops and the bicycle community to promote bicycle safety and healthy lifestyle choices, gain support and resources, raise awareness of BGCNF Club services, and increase community participation.
Assist with the implementation and facilitation of BGCNF-aligned programs and activities.
Additional Responsibilities
Ensure program goals are met and consistent with organizational goals and mission.
Monitor and maintain regular evaluation reports reflecting activities, attendance, and parent/member participation.
Promote, inspire and motivate youth participation in a variety of program areas/activities
Initiate innovation and creativity; provide guidance and role modeling to members
Recognize problem areas and assist in achieving understanding and success
Demonstrate leadership to ensure a healthy and safe environment, and that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained
Monitor program expenses to ensure they fall within the approved grant budget
Participate in new member recruiting, orientation, and processing
Promote a safe environment by ensuring areas are properly cleaned, and club equipment is maintained in good condition
Attend relevant staff meetings and training events
May participate in additional special programs and/or events
May be required to drive the club van periodically
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Associate's degree, bachelor's degree preferred.
Certified bicycle mechanic preferred
Minimum of 2 - 3years' experience working with children or youth preferred.
Experience working with schools and community groups is a plus.
Required Skills
Base knowledge of bicycle maintenance and repair, trail and track etiquette and safety, willingness to receive additional training.
Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including computer operations and Microsoft Office
Ability to accumulate and analyze data to plan appropriate actions
Ability to work with the public
Ability to supervise and motivate youth while managing behavior issues
Highly developed ability to solve problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence and appearance
Must have the ability to work evenings and scheduled weekends
Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works about 25 hours per week. Typically, a combination of M - F, and some evenings and Saturdays for public access and special events, to equal 25 hours per week when BGCNF offices are not closed for Holidays. Work is conducted indoors and outside.

Program Director (Biscayne Elementary School)
Position Type: Full-Time, Salary Exempt
Salary: $40,000/yr.
The Program Director is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of programs and activities; which encompass the incorporation of character development, age-appropriate and gender-specific programs and activities; while ensuring that cultural diversity educational programs are implemented; including assisting in the planning, implementation, and delivery of exciting and engaging educational activities, and programs for youth ages 6 to 18.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
This position's primary responsibilities are:
Initiate, manage and provide administration of designated programs and activities, posting schedules daily
Lead the planning of high-quality programming for club members and ensure program goals are met and consistent with organizational goals and mission
Coordinate extracurricular activities, such as field trips, guest speakers, etc. as outlined in program objectives
Monitor and maintain regular evaluation reports reflecting activities, attendance, and parent/member participation
Promote, inspire and motivate youth participation in a variety of program areas/activities
Initiate innovation and creativity; provide guidance and role modeling to members
Recognize problem areas and assist in achieving understanding and success
Demonstrate leadership to ensure a healthy and safe environment, and that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained
Develop partnerships with parents, families, schools, and other Clubs to identify ways to increase Program membership and participation.
Additional Responsibilities
Monitor program expenses to ensure they fall within the approved grant budget
Participate in new member recruiting, orientation, and processing
Promote a safe environment by ensuring areas are properly cleaned and club equipment is maintained in good condition
Attend relevant staff meetings and training events
May participate in additional special programs and/or events
May be required to drive club van periodically
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum of 2 - 3 years experience working with youth ages 6 - 18
Experience working with schools and community groups is a plus
Required Skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including computer operations and Microsoft Office
Ability to accumulate and analyze data to plan appropriate actions
Ability to work with the public
Ability to supervise and motivate youth while managing behavior issues
Highly developed ability to problem-solve
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence and appearance
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary

SUPERVISORY: This position supervises others, under the direction of the Unit Director
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position generally works M - F, from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM; however, may occasionally require hours outside of this schedule when necessary, including weekends. Work is conducted both indoors and outside.

REPORTS TO: BGCNF President

The Chief Philanthropy Officer oversees the planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive fundraising program for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation (BGCNCF). This key leadership position plays a vital role as the public face of the organization and its mission in the community. The ability to successfully foster and steward relationships with individuals, corporations and foundations that lead to significant charitable support of BGCNCF will be paramount. The position guides all fundraising activities including annual giving, major gifts, special events, and capital campaigns. It reports directly to the Board of Directors and works collaboratively with volunteer leadership to develop strategic programmatic and fundraising plans that influence organizational growth and service to the community's youth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revenue Generation
Build and implement an overall fundraising strategy to achieve an annual fundraising goal of approximately $1.8 to $2M.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new and existing donors.
Prioritize major gifts donors of $10,000 above and successfully secure five to seven figure investments in the organization.
Research and pursue grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
Write compelling grant proposals and manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle.
Lead the planning, strategy and execution of capital campaigns when required.
Support the successful planning and execution of all fundraising events.
Prospect Identification/Management
Develop an extensive donor prospect list. Evaluate and segment the prospect list according to appropriate levels of giving.
Work closely with the Board of Directors to prioritize donor activity, determine solicitation strategy and effectively utilize Board's time.
Develop all appropriate donor correspondence including gift proposals, meeting requests, and meeting follow ups.
Properly track donor information with thoughtful research and engage with donors through timely stewardship.
Strategic Planning and Board Collaboration
Lead the creation of the organization's fundraising strategy and goals to support growth with counsel from the Board of Directors.
Work collaboratively with the club directors and Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida to identify areas for program growth that can be funded by philanthropic support.
Present regular reports on development activities, metrics, and outcomes to the Board.
Serve as a liaison to all Board committees, particularly the Development Committee.
Support board recruitment efforts by identifying potential members with affinity and fundraising capacity.
Track and analyze fundraising metrics to inform strategy and decision-making.
Communications and Marketing
Develop a multi-channel annual giving program that conveys the organization's needs in a compelling manner and results in new charitable support.
Oversee the creation of fundraising collateral, case statement, proposals, and presentations.
Coordinate organizational marketing efforts to ensure consistent messaging.
Manage donor newsletters and other stewardship communications.
Prepare letters of appreciation for donors. Follow procedures for the proper receipt and acknowledgement of gifts.
Implement an effective donor stewardship and recognition program by gift level.
Serve as a public speaker and representative of BGCNCF at community events/activities and civic organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
Minimum of five years of fundraising experience with nonprofit organizations
Proven experience managing development programs and leading capital campaigns
Success identifying, cultivating and closing major gifts of $10,000 and above from individual donors, corporations and foundations
Success planning and executing fundraising events and securing sponsorship support.
Experience working with high-profile boards, volunteer leadership and senior executives
Knowledge of best practices in nonprofit fundraising and ethical standards
Proficiency in donor database management, Microsoft Office, and other computer skills
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification (preferred)
Understanding and implementation of planned giving programs (preferred)
Utilization of wealth screening and prospect research tools (preferred)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills; must be able to communicate professionally, effectively and diplomatically
Exceptional interpersonal skills required; ability to effectively connect with donors

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The position reports directly to the BGCNF President and works closely with the Board of Directors and Development Committee. It has supervisory responsibility for the Director of Administration.

SALARY, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

TIME COMMITMENT:
This is a full-time role and requires forty hours per week. Flexibility is necessary as some weekend and evening commitments may be required.

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods; bending and squatting on occasion
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion
Ability to hear at a normal conversational level

The Character and Leadership YDP is part of a team-oriented Club staff dedicated to serving our youth and creating an optimal Club Experience. This position will plan, supervise and implement a variety of high-yield activities and targeted programs within a health and life skills focus.
This position is responsible for: ensuring youth development principles are incorporated into art programs and activities; providing guidance and discipline to ensure a safe and positive environment for youth; ensuring the incorporation of character development, age appropriate and gender-specific programs and activities; ensuring that culturally diverse programs are implemented; assisting, as needed, in the planning, implementation, and delivery of activities and programs for youth ages 6 to 18.

Planning and implementing a variety of Character and Leadership programs for members of all ages, including Keystone Clubs, Youth of the Year, Million Members Million Hours of Service, & Torch Club
Recruiting and retaining youth for Character and Leadership programs
Working with other staff in the club to help implement these programs throughout the school year
Maintain a Student Advisory Committee
Complete a yearly service-learning projects
This position helps members to make appropriate choices about their education, career, social, physical and emotional needs as it relates to health and their future goals. The position also assesses the developmental needs, interests and characteristics of youth to develop targeted programs that result in an outcome-driven club experience.
Ensure programs, services and activities prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of Club at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:
Planning and organizing a range of program services and activities for members, such as field trips, program specific activities, guest speakers, field trips, etc.
Initiating new programs with the approval of the Program Director/Unit Director.
Promoting and stimulating program participation.
3. Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in weekly Club staff meetings.
4. Participate in local, state, regional, and national Boys & Girls Clubs Character and Leadership programs and competitions.
Health and Safety
Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area.
Maintain the cleanliness of program area.
Maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies in good order. Recommend requisitions as necessary.
Program Administration
Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, attendance, and other reports as required.
