Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio is seeking a Senior Director of Advancement to lead fundraising strategy and execution for our mission-driven nonprofit at a critical growth stage. This is an experienced senior-level role with real accountability, direct access to executive leadership, and the opportunity to see your work translate into tangible community impact. The Role at a Glance
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director of Advancement provides leadership for all fundraising, donor relations, and grant development functions. This role is responsible for:
Achieving 95% of annual revenue goals across individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants and events
Increasing donor retention by 10% year over year
Adding 10 new major donors or partners annually
Leading and developing a high-performing Advancement Team
What You Will Do
Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and advancement strategy aligned with organizational priorities
Lead, coach, and supervise the Advancement Team to meet revenue and engagement goals
Partner closely with the COO and senior leadership team on multi-year growth and sustainability planning
Major Gifts, Corporate, & Institutional Giving
Personally manage a portfolio of major donors, corporate partners, and foundation prospects
Cultivate, solicit, and steward high-value donor and partner relationships
Lead institutional fundraising strategy, including competitive grant submissions and reporting
Guide corporate partnership development and sponsorship activation
Board & Cross-Functional Engagement
Lead board fundraising strategy, training, and engagement
Serve as a key liaison between Advancement, Finance, Programs and senior leadership team
Campaigns, Stewardship, & Messaging
Oversee annual fund, capital, and special campaign planning and execution
Oversee case statements, proposals, and donor-facing impact reports
Ensure consistent, high-quality donor recognition and stewardship
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor s degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field; master s degree preferred
7+ years progressively responsible nonprofit fundraising experience
Demonstrated success in major gifts, donor stewardship, and team leadership
Experience with grant writing and corporate partnerships
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Comfort working cross-functionally in a collaborative environment
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Experience using donor databases; Little Green Light preferred
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary for this position is $116,000 155,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The total rewards package includes a comprehensive benefits offering that includes paid time off, twenty paid holidays, paid parental leave, medical, dental, and vision insurance, group life insurance, and a car allowance. This is a remote position; however, regular travel is expected to meet with donors, cultivate relationships, attend networking and community events, attend board meetings, and support fundraising activities that require in-person engagement.
