The Education Specialist is responsible for overseeing all Academic Success (Education and Arts) programs at their assigned Clubhouse(s). This includes planning, development, reporting, and implementation of these programs in collaboration with the Programs team. The Education Specialist also assists with other operational functions of the Clubhouse and may serve as acting Clubhouse supervisor in the absence of the Clubhouse Director and Assistant Clubhouse Director.     Job Description Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the management of all financial functions including accounting, payroll, financial planning, internal/external reporting, internal controls/compliance, grant billing, and 401(k) administration. The CFO is also responsible for the establishment and management of the organizational budget, the budget process, and forecasting revenues and expenses. The essential job duties for this role include: Manage and oversee all financial operations of the organization including accounting, budgeting, payroll, forecasting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and processing of day-to-day transactions. Develop and implement financial strategies and processes that support BGCSNV's mission and goals. Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits. Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision making. Contribute to the organization's strategic plan through collaboration with BGCSNV's Executive Team. This includes any grant/funding opportunities with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. • Schedule and manage meetings to collect program information, clarify requirements or outcomes, and develop grant proposals. Work closely with program and financial staff to prepare budgets for grant proposals • Manage grants calendar. Tracks applications, communicates results of submissions, and carries out follow-up for unsuccessful proposals Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or other relevant fields is preferred. • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience managing grant funds from federal/local government agencies, grant writing, funding development, or project management and managing accounting functions in a non-profit agency, or equivalent experience which includes strong knowledge of government grant management principles. • Strong writing skills in English sufficient to prepare grant reports. • Skills in computing basic mathematics sufficient to prepare and verify financial and budget reports. • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and applications of grant/program, evaluation, and planning along with grant compliance best practices, budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations. • Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. The Controller is also responsible for the establishment and management of the organizational budget, the budget process, and forecasting revenues and expenses. The essential job duties for this role include: Manages all aspects of the general ledger systems and sub systems. Prepares and/or reviews general ledger entries, reconciliations, and account analysis to facilitate monthly close. Prepares monthly and annual financial statements. Ensures regulatory reporting compliance. Works closely with Club leadership and managers to oversee the maintenance, analysis, and interpretation of general ledger for all funds, and manage the preparation and analysis of all financial reports on a monthly and as needed basis. Analyzes and reports revenue and expense variances, forecasts and monitors cash flow. Manages the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and grant and other contractual requirements. Trains staff in proper procedures regarding cash receipts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting as needed or requested. Establishes, maintains, and evaluates internal control systems and processes. Coordinates activities of external auditors to include annual financial statement and A-133 audits as well as preparation and filing of IRS Form 990. Prepares audit schedules, provided supporting documentation, and reviews audited financials and 990 to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and disclosures. Supervises preparation of payroll, timely deposit of all payroll taxes, and preparation of W-2 forms for income tax reporting for all current and former employees, and all state and federal reporting. Supervises accounts payable, ensuring prompt payments and proper servicing of debt. Ensures compliance with records retention requirements. Oversee and administers the Child Care Assistance program including training of staff, application processing, data management, billing, QC reviews and audits. Reviews the monthly income calculation of each application. Oversee the grant billing process for reimbursable grants and ensure compliance with fiscal aspects of grant requirements. Oversee/manages the budgeting process for grants and large funding opportunities, in partnership with other staff.     Junior Summer Aide Job Summary: The Junior Summer Aide Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for implementing, leading, directing, and evaluating youth programs and activities in one or more program areas, providing supervision of members, as well as participating in, helping with, and carrying out the daily functions of a clubhouse. Major Duties and Responsibilities Program Management Lead and implement programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes. Promote and stimulate members' interest in core area program participation. Ensure members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive respect, recognition, instruction, and constructive feedback to develop skills. Under the guidance of the Clubhouse Director, Assistant Clubhouse Director, and/or Specialist staff, ensure program objectives are completed within club specific requirements, resources and timelines. Participate in planning programs and activities. Supports programs managed by fellow Youth Development Professionals. Member Management Engage with members, families, all Youth Development Professionals and volunteers to receive and provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines and instructions, report, and facilitate the implementation of programs. Participate in meetings as needed to promote alignment and collaboration with other departments and clubhouses. Demonstrate leadership in relation to members, parents, Youth Development Professionals, and visitor conduct and safety to ensure a proper environment for the development of members. Serve as a mentor/role model for members. Provide direction to members through the establishment and enforcement of standards, expectations, and consequences for inappropriate youth behavior in accordance with organization guidelines. Apply corrective action that is fair, consistent and age appropriate and provide written documentation and support when appropriate for conduct/behavior issues. Clubhouse Support Oversee and assists in the cleanliness and safe operation of all program areas, clubhouse, and grounds. Work cohesively with all Youth Development Professionals to foster a positive environment for staff and members. Assist and participate in all aspects of the clubhouse including, but not limited to all program areas, programs, cleaning, or other scheduled duties as assigned. Enforce and abide by Clubhouse rules, organization policies, procedures and practices. Administrative Duties Assist with completion of required documentation for programs. Assist with compiling and producing accurate tracking of programs and program metrics including, but not limited to, monthly reports, program schedules, daily attendance. Assist with other Clubhouse administrative duties as needed. Other Duties Participate and assist in operational events and training. May provide attention and direction to special needs children. Maintain a professional appearance and bearing reflective of the high standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. May assist at other Clubhouse locations when needed. Ability to occasionally work irregular or extended hours. May perform other duties as assigned.
