The Role The Youth Sports Instructor is responsible for working with youth to educate them on a skillset in a specified sport, with a focus on basketball. The instructor is responsible for coordinating, implementing and promoting the athletics program for BGCWPA. At times, you may be the referee for game play in addition to the instructor
Key Responsibilities
Ability to teach specified athletic program skill sets to students that emphasize on the technique, rules, and strategies of the play.
Ability to coach and teach basketball
Ability to teach sportsmanship, cooperation, and responsibility to team members.
Demonstrates through experience, a commitment to devote extended day hours to include nights and weekends.
Ability to supervise and conduct safe practices and contests.
Ability to encourage all athletes and offer fair play for each student that wishes to participate.
Ability to positively promote recruitment efforts representing BGCWPA.
Ability to respond to player injuries by using first aid techniques.
Ability to supervise youth.
Ability to communicate with parents/guardians professionally.
Understands the rules of the sport.

Your Skills And Experiences
At a minimum a high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years' experience in organized coaching and/or sports play, with an emphasis on basketball
Dependable and reliable
Advanced positive customer service skills needed.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with youth, families, staff, and outside agencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills are a must
Proficient in Google Suite.
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs function require the following physical demands: lifting & carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing, any/or pulling, climbing to include steps, balancing, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and signification fine fingered dexterity. AmeriCorps Members serve our community while gaining experience working with youth. The members will provide small group tutoring and mentoring support. The members will utilize BGCA nationally recognized programs and evidence-based curriculums to create learning opportunities for our youth participants. Responsibilities
Implement educational programs covering Literacy, STEAM, Mentoring, and Athletics
Participate in professional development opportunities throughout the program
Foster an environment that encourages creativity and exploration
Assist with annual youth evaluations
Promote and stimulate membership in the Clubhouse through programs, services, and outreach activities
Offer input regarding department programs, in partnership with the approval of the Program Manager
Observe and report any maintenance and operational concerns of the department's physical property, always ensuring Club member safety to the Clubhouse Director

The Role
The Clubhouse Director is responsible for the overall management and operations of the entire Northern Area Clubhouse, serving as the leader of the staff and primary liaison to families, partners, and the community. Job Summary
The Youth Development Professional (YDP) serves as a direct-service leader in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes the holistic development of all youth.
