As a non-academic institution, Echocardiographers at Presbyterian are on the front lines of congenital heart disease care - frequently providing the initial diagnostic assessment of patients with undiagnosed congenital heart disease and working with physicians to ensure each patient receives a comprehensive echocardiogram. Sonographers also participate in all OR and cath lab imaging - in addition to providing inpatient echocardiograms and clinic-based echocardiograms. Call: Participate in weeknight and weekend call. Sonographers take "Home Call" with call pay. On average, sonographers are called in overnight approximately once a month. Weekend call is typically 2-6 echoes on Saturdays and Sundays, and triaged by the on call pediatric cardiologist. Collaboration: Work as a team with fellow sonographers and physicians to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal imaging for every patient. Equipment maintenance: Assist echo lab managers with maintaining equipment and performing quality control.
