Maintain internal book production schedule.
Edit pre-translation files for misspellings, scanner malfunctions, and incorrect punctuation.
Type in unscannable material.
Transcribe electronic files of print material into braille following the guidelines set forth by the Braille Authority of North America and the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
Insert Duxbury and/or Braille 2000 braille translator formatting codes.
Operate all relevant hardware and software, including braille translation software and embossers.
Coordinate proofreading and corrections according to published job schedule.
Collaborate with braille proofreaders and copyholders to make all necessary corrections to braille materials.
Work overtime as required to meet production demands and deadlines.
Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1. HS diploma/GED.
2. Minimum of 3 years related work experience as a transcriber.
3. NLS UEB Certification, required.
4. Willing to attain additional certifications.

Gather and organize client and financial information.
Prepare account balances, including fees, funding, deposits, and wire transfers.
Create and distribute disbursement checks.
Enter data into various software systems, client platforms, and case management tools.
