A Brief Overview
Performs CT examinations contributing to the efficient operation of the department to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Assists in clinical training of staff technologists and radiology clinical students. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
What you will do
Prepares patients and adjusts equipment for taking film. Positions and instructs patients regarding procedures.
Performs all required procedures utilizing proper positioning, format, technique and protocol.
Identifies, interviews and screens patients for proper diet preparation and possible allergies to contrast materials. Consults with supervisor, radiologist and physicians as needed. Explains procedures to patients. Assures that equipment has been calibrated and applies radiation principles of protection.
Records procedure and pertinent data in patient's medical record.
Participates in the quality assessment and improvement plan, assuming responsibility for specific quality control duties.
Monitors inventory of supplies, orders, and expired items and notify appropriate individual when stock is low.
Monitors and reports equipment malfunctions.
Produces high quality images via digital imaging or hard CR cassette and presents the film satisfactorily for Radiologist interpretation.
Mentors and assists in the education of students.
Assists with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation.

Job Summary

Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Iowa: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained.
Minnesota: Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Successful completion of a state-approved Trained Medication Assistant course.
North Dakota: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. A Brief Overview

What you will be doing as a MedSpeed Medical Driver:
Most of your day will be spent in a company-owned vehicle, safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail and related materials
Operate a hand-held scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle
Strictly observe operating policies, procedures and service schedules
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction
Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior
Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat and orderly vehicle
Route duties vary based on client and business needs, and LSRs must be able to perform all duties across all routes they may be assigned. Route assignments may change from time to time.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation and adaptability with teammates and clients
Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture
What you need to become a MedSpeeder:
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Must be 19 years of age with an active driver's license for 3 years
Demonstrated dependability and reliability
Familiarity working with and adapting to technology
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points
Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen
Drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions
Must have an excellent driving history
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination depending on location and local mandates
Must be able to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
While drop-off and pick-up responsibilities may vary and routes may be inconsistent, the ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands is always required
Must be able to lift items off storage racks
Must be comfortable walking long distances and standing for long periods of time

Responsibilities
* Performs invasive cardiac, peripheral vascular diagnostic, interventional and electrophysiology procedures using sophisticated imaging, hemodynamic monitoring and recording equipment to assess and treated cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
* Possess a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care.
* Possess knowledge of pharmacologic options for treatment and the impact it can have on exercise performance, hemodynamic and diagnostic tests.
* Utilize different equipment, programs, and computers, including Cardiac, Vascular and EP experience XPER/CUPID/ GE, Siemens and Phillips XR system.
* Ability to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience is required.
Possesses expert knowledge in cardiovascular technology, including pharmacology and advanced cardiac rhythm management. Possesses a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic principles, X-ray techniques, and emergent and routine cardiac care.
Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire is preferred. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position is preferred.
Depending on location Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 12 months of hire is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if applicable to position is preferred.

· Basic knowledge of canine and feline anatomy
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment and quick decision making
· Attention to detail
· Critical thinking skills
· Must have and maintain valid driver's license with good driving record.
· Regularly exerting 50 pounds of force to lift or move animals/objects
· Moderate/High amounts of walking, standing, lifting, crouching, balancing, reaching and other repetitive motions required
· Mostly inside work, some outside work and temperature changes involved.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Animal handling experience required
· Basic medical knowledge required
· Shelter medicine knowledge preferred
COMPENSATION:
This position starts at $16 per hour (dependent upon experience) paid on a biweekly basis.
