About the Role:
In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate, People Operations to support the execution of core People Operations functions, with a primary focus on our non-exempt, part-time, and temporary staff who directly support Braven's Leadership & Career Accelerator course (the Accelerator). The Associate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining data integrity across our people systems, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and responding to routine requests from People Operations.
The Associate will independently manage routine operational tasks and processes, make recommendations to improve efficiency, and escalate exceptions or compliance risks as appropriate. The role regularly collaborates with internal stakeholders and our PEO/HRIS provider (ex. TriNet) while following established policies and guidance.
This role is part of the People & Culture team and reports to the Director, People Operations.
What You'll Do
People Systems, Data & Operations 40%
Execute onboarding and offboarding processes for non-exempt and temporary staff (interns, graders, substitute leadership coaches, coaching partners):
Onboarding: preboarding communications, preparation of offer letters, background checks, I-9 verifications in E-Verify, and collaboration with IT on equipment provisioning.
Offboarding: Process terminations and collaborate with IT on equipment returns.
Serve as the first point of contact for incoming People Operations requests related to non-exempt and temporary staff, ensuring timely execution in partnership with the Associate Director and according to established service level agreements (SLAs) in our People Operations portal (Jira).
Maintain staff personnel records and collect all required forms and documentation.
Maintain and update people systems (TriNet, personnel records) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintain Braven's organizational chart.
Conduct data audits, changes, and reporting for our people systems (TriNet) and external Google Sheets, including our quarterly TriNet audit and our monthly pay change audit for our Head of People.
Support process documentation and incremental efficiency improvements, with guidance from the Director.
Payroll & Timekeeping 35%
Prepare and execute the full-cycle biweekly payroll preparation process and serve as the primary escalation point for payroll concerns.
Coordinate payroll reminders and communications for hourly teammates and their managers.
Maintain payroll notes; document pay adjustments and leave of absence calculations.
Upload all submitted timesheets to the payroll grid.
Ensure a timely process of payroll activities in accordance with compliance requirements, including hourly employee management.
Collaborate with external professional employer organization (PEO) team members (TriNet) and Finance, including payroll contacts, and ensure accuracy in processes and data input for employee population.
Manage timekeeping initiatives and requirements, including reporting on paid time off (PTO), sick time, and in-office attendance for all staff.
Increase efficiencies throughout payroll preparation: communications to staff and managers, TriNet submission processes, payroll meetings, and payroll changes documentation with support from the Director and Associate Director, People Operations.
Develop and maintain resources for Braven staff about timekeeping, the payroll process, scheduling, systems, and training.
Coordinate and track payments for employees while on various leaves of absence in partnership with our TriNet leave of absence team and Sparrow.
General Support and Other Duties 25%
Communicate and socialize company-wide People Operations updates and content to staff.
Collaborate with the Associate Director and Senior Coordinator, People Operations, to effectively complete team goals (OKRs).
Identify and mitigate risk in people operations processes, and independently escalate critical compliance issues as needed.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
1-2 years of People Operations/HR experience
1-2 years of experience managing people systems (PEO, HRIS)
Preferred Qualifications

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $56,900-$71,100. This is a full-time regular, exempt, and benefits eligible position where you will be working at 100% capacity. In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate, Recruitment - New Jersey who will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling Fellows (students) into the Braven Accelerator course at the Higher Education Partnership per semester to meet annual goals.
To achieve these results, you will recruit and manage a part-time student recruitment intern and Braven Student Ambassadors. You will work closely with Central and Regional recruitment teams, as well as the Rutgers-Newark team to help you reach your goals. In all of this, you will contribute to building and maintaining a positive presence of Braven at the Higher Education Partnership (HEP).
This role is on the New Jersey Regional Team team and reports directly to the Senior Director, New Jersey.
What You'll Do
Student Recruitment and Enrollment (50%)
Develop vision, strategy, and plans to effectively enroll and reach annual student recruitment goals each semester into the Braven course
Use Salesforce and Google Suites to manage recruitment data, operations, and pipelines
Analyze recruitment data weekly to inform recruiting strategy
Organize and support recruitment presentations and materials
Host recruitment events in order to source prospective students
Recruit and manage a team of student interns and volunteers
Support the student-led Braven Nation student organization on campus
Social Media and Marketing (20%)
Share design input and feedback with Braven's External Affairs team on marketing materials
Collect and share compelling stories with the Communications Team and External Affairs Team

Develop a social media recruitment strategy with the Communications and Recruitment interns
Stakeholder Management (15%)
Support the cultivation and management of key stakeholders such as university staff and alumni, as well as employer and community partners

Minimum Requirements

Determine and execute against key cultivation priorities with high-stakes higher education partners, including building and maintaining strong relationships and pipelines.
Build and strengthen authentic, mutually beneficial relationships with Presidents, Provosts, Deans, faculty, and staff to successfully steward current higher education partnerships, while cultivating dozens more, listening to and understanding their needs and priorities.
Partner with the Chief, External Affairs, to determine which conference Braven should attend, present at, and/or sponsor, attending conferences as needed to represent Braven at industry conferences, events, and meetings to build brand awareness and foster new relationships.

Provide administrative support to multiple executives, which includes scheduling in-person meetings and conference calls, and managing their calendars.

About the Role
In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring the Head of Employer Partnerships. You will play a pivotal role in the organization's corporate fundraising, recruiting employees from our partners to volunteer, and opening up access to internship and job opportunities for our Fellows. You will be responsible for cultivating new prospective national employer partners, successfully managing high stakes existing partnerships, and leading the Employer Partnerships team (6 full-time staff) to strong outcomes.

Strategic Leadership & Growth (30%)
Set and lead on Braven's org-wide employer partnership strategy that enables employers to contribute 50% of our core model revenue and 50% of our volunteers, and helps us provide Fellows with access to relevant internship and job opportunities.
Coordinate with internal subteams to align with program and revenue needs.
Integrate employer partnership goals across the enterprise.
Analyze partnership data to identify patterns and drive solutions.
Lead the design and implementation of new strategies and operations using product development and change management best practices.
Partnership Development & External Relations (40%)
Manage a portfolio of high-stakes, shared-value relationships with national employer partners.

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a Senior Director, New Jersey who is responsible for the programmatic success at the Higher Education Partner (HEP). They are responsible for ensuring that the students who complete the Accelerator at the HEP secure a strong first job or enroll in graduate school within 6 months of graduation and maintain a positive and strong presence at the HEP and in New Jersey.
As a member of the New Jersey team & the leader of the Higher Education Partnership, you will lead a team of 3-5 full-time employees and a team of part-time interns. The Senior Director of the HEP Partnership will also be responsible for working collaboratively with all of our central and regional teams, including our volunteer recruitment team and the team that manages the delivery of our course. Together, you, the Executive Director (ED), and the Senior Director of the Higher Education Partnership will build and maintain a positive and strong presence at the HEP and in New Jersey.
This role is on the New Jersey team and reports directly to the Executive Director of New Jersey.
What You'll Do
Deliver Site Outcomes (40%)
Oversee and ensure strong local program implementation at the HEP, including the pre-course, course, and post-course experience, to meet programmatic goals.
Drive and responsible for the quality of regionally owned program elements including (but not limited to) local programming, learning lab implementation, data collection for job campaign, etc.
For the elements of the program that are delivered by the center, serve as a check for the HEP satisfaction and fit with local student needs and campus culture; provide feedback to the central teams in a spirit of partnership and continuous improvement.
Assess data continuously and ensure students are on track to graduate and secure strong jobs. Partner with Braven's Product team to develop supports and interventions to achieve student jobs outcomes.
Participate in the organization-wide efforts to drive program model strategy and decisions, recommending changes as needed to Braven's program model to achieve transformational and sustainable impact.
Observe, provide feedback, and collaborate in weekly in-person and virtual Braven Accelerator course, virtual and in-person career events, student recruitment events, and other key moments throughout the year.
Take initiative to deeply understand Braven's program, outcomes, and indicators of success by collaborating with the Rutgers-Newark team, shadowing the Braven Accelerator, becoming a Leadership Coach, and other strategies that build context, trust, and understanding.
Effectively Manage Stakeholders (40%)
Develop and steward strong and formalized partnerships with the HEP leadership and faculty, employers, and community-based organizations that result in additional resources for our students and improvements to our program model.
Cultivate and manage relationships with key HEP stakeholders that foster collaboration and a healthy partnership.
Lead and co-lead meetings with the HEP stakeholders to build Braven into the career ecosystem and ensure that Braven is upholding partnership goals and agreements.
Act as the “mayor” of the local HEP, deeply understanding the ecosystem, owning local relationships (faculty, professor of record, etc.) and the campaign manager running local campaigns on campus.
Build a collaborative team culture of individuals committed to achieving excellence, meeting site goals, and living out Braven core values.
Create Vision and Strategy for the HEP(10%)
Co-create strategy in partnership with the ED for the HEPsite and drive stakeholders towards the shared vision.
