1951

Since the conception of the Company back in 1951, Soler & Palau has always been conscious about the environmental impact of its products and manufacturing systems.

1956

1956 Stanley Fans was founded in downtown Jacksonville by American Airline's pilot, Leonard Stanley.

1957

With the launch of Sputnik in 1957, Air Products wins the competition to make a new rocket propellant – liquid hydrogen – for the Air Force and later NASA at the legendary "three bears" plants.

In 1957, Air Products enters the international market for industrial gases through Air Products (Great Britain), Ltd., a joint venture with the Butterley Company.

1960

In 1960, company founder Leonard Parker Pool is featured on the cover of Business Week.

1961

In 1961, Air Products begins manufacturing chemicals through a joint venture to convert refinery by-products into oxo-alcohols for use in producing plasticizers.

1962

The diversification of Air Products into chemicals began in 1962 with the company's purchase of Houdry Chemicals and, later, Air Company, a specialty chemical company.

In 1962, the company acquires the Houdry Process Company and its subsidiary, the Catalytic Construction Company.

Air Products stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange for the first time in 1962 as its sales pass $100 million.

1969

In 1969, Air Products purchased Escambia Chemicals, paying a cash price well below its market value.

The company's position in chemicals expands with the 1969 acquisition of Escambia Chemical Corporation, a United States company in Pensacola, Florida.

In 1985, the company bought a methane recovery plant and accelerated development of a plant that converted garbage to steam and electricity.

Significant investments in Asia resulted in the construction of seven industrial gas plants by 1992.

In 1992, Harold A. Wagner, who had been a key proponent of the strategic plan, replaced Dexter Baker as chairperson and chief executive officer, and Air Products launched a two-year program to consolidate and restructure its $1.1 billion chemical business.

In 1992, Stanley Corporation Industrial acquired and moved Essick Air (Arkansas, USA) to Jacksonville.

1992 Stanley Fans purchases Breidert Fans to increase their centrifugal assortment.

1993

In January 1993, Stanley Corporation Industrial changed its name to Breidert Air Products Inc.

In 1993, Air Products achieved record cash flows, sold record volumes of industrial gases and chemicals, and ranked as the third largest supplier of industrial gases in the world.

1994

1994 Stanley Fans purchases JencoFan to increase their Food Service assortment.

1995

In 1995, Breidert Air Products Inc. purchased the brand Jennco Fans, a benchmark in the restaurant sector, with the aim of expanding into this sector of the market.

2000

On 9th January 2000 one of the Company’s founders, Mr.

In December 2000 Soler & Palau acquired the century-old company VIM S.A. The addition of this company Group, confirmed by its later spectacular development, was without doubt one of the most important strategic moves in the Group history.

2001

In 2001 Soler & Palau commemorated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Company.

International expansion continued with the opening of a subsidiary company in Canada in 2001.

2002

It was for this reason that in 2002 the Company started work to implement the ISO Standard 14001 on environmental management system across all areas of the factories in Spain.

2003

In 2003 Soler & Palau acquires all shares of the company AEE SIA in Latvia which in turn becomes S&P Baltic.

2004

On 29 December 2004, Soler & Palau acquired Breidert Air Products.

In 2004 the SILENT bathroom extractor range is launched which introduces a revolutionary concept to the sector.

2005

In 2005, the CADB and CADB HE series of commercial heat recovery products are launched onto the market.Soler & Palau establishes strategic partnerships with several motor manufacturers for the development of its own line of electrically commutated direct current and very low consumption motors.

2007

Soler & Palau initially acquired a 25% stake in the company with an option to buy another 25% in 2007.

In 2007 the VENTURIA E is launched, and work is carried out on developing variations of this product for other different European markets.

2008

In 2008, Air Products commissions its new hydrogen fueling station at the company’s global headquarters in Allentown, Pa.

2009

In 2009 a new holding company Soler & Palau Ventilation Group SLU is formed.

2010

In May 2010, Soler & Palau, S.A. acquired a majority stake in RenewAire.

The 2010 period sees the Company expand into a new market sector for electric curtains.

2012

In 2012, Air Products acquires a controlling stake in INDURA, the largest independent industrial gas company in South America at the time.

2013

Air Products acquires EPCO Carbon Dioxide Products, Inc. in 2013, adding liquid CO₂ to its North American offerings through EPCO’s 12 CO₂ purification and liquefaction plants.

2014

In 2014, Air Products Board of Directors approves appointment of new Chairman, President and CEO Seifi Ghasemi , who develops a strategic Five-Point Plan to guide the company's future success.

2015

In 2015, Air Products is awarded a contract by Saudi Aramco under a joint venture of Air Products and ACWA Holding to build, own and operate the world's largest industrial gas complex to supply Saudi Aramco refinery being built in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.

2016

Executing on its strategic Five-Point Plan, Air Products completes the separation of its Electronics Materials Division through the spin-off of Versum Materials, Inc. in 2016

2017

Again executing on its strategic Five-Point Plan, Air Products becomes a pure-play industrial gases company in 2017 with the sale of its Performance Materials Division to German specialty chemicals producer Evonik Industries AG.

2021

With occupancy targeted by Summer 2021, the new facility’s design will reflect a world-class, sustainable industrial gas company.
