The pros of working for Brenau University are the people, the culture, and the generous PTO.
Brenau is in transition and has experienced an unprecedented amount of turn over in the past decade.
Brenau’s culture of trusting its people to do their jobs without micromanaging them, flexible scheduling, and a friendly and supportive internal culture are what keep people employed.
Brenau’s leadership team has experienced a lot of attention. The new President is in his early stages, but has a long history with the university.
Refocus on the people who are the culture of the university. Nonprofit schools are not high paying, faculty and staff work there in Nonprofits for the satisfaction of supporting students, and the low key culture. When the employees are treated as less educated and micromanaged the culture deteriorates and attrition rises.
Studying the company’s public profiles/websites, reviewing their annual reports, and knowing the key words of their job description are essential to preparing for an interview.
Brenau is at the bottom of the pay scale for higher education. Raises are rare beyond 3%, and there are few opportunities to grow.
Diversity in the university faculty is poor, worse in staff. Racial diversity is a focus, age discrimination is an issue.
