The Housekeeper performs daily cleaning duties throughout the facility in accordance with established safety and sanitation standards. This position plays a key role in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following; other duties may be assigned:
· Maintain assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly condition. Tasks include but are not limited to: dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, waxing, buffing, extracting, shampooing, polishing, disinfecting, deodorizing, and removing trash.
· Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms and equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety; report concerns or hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Director of Environmental Services.
· Identify and report maintenance needs such as burnt-out lightbulbs, malfunctioning call lights, or equipment issues.
· Coordinate housekeeping tasks with other departments to minimize disruption to residents' schedules and routines. Participate in resident care planning when requested.
· Monitor supply levels in utility and janitorial closets; ensure equipment and service areas are kept clean and organized. Assist in lifting or moving heavy items when needed.
· Communicate professionally with coworkers, residents, families, and other departments.
· Attend and participate in staff meetings, department in-services, and on-the-job training as directed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Healthcare Setting:
· Assemble and deliver floor supplies according to posted standards.

The Nurse Manager plans and organizes nursing care for residents of Brethren Retirement Community. This role directly and indirectly supervises the Nursing Department staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Direct daily operations of the neighborhood, including reviewing 24-hour care provided to elders.
· Provide leadership and support for the resident-centered care model.
· Ensure quality of care by auditing skin issues, falls, restraints, care plans, infection control, and more. Maintain reports and present findings to the Quality Assurance Process Improvement Committee.
· Utilize reports in PCC or other electronic medical record systems; teach and monitor licensed nurses in software use.
· Make regular rounds to visit acutely or terminally ill residents, newly admitted or transferred residents, and assist Charge Nurses in assessing resident needs.
· Assist with Assisted Living Waiver programs, including all reviews.
· Initiate, direct, and supervise staff in delivering Restorative Nursing Programs.
· Support licensed nursing staff in meeting resident needs, including emergencies, admissions, discharges, and daily care.
· Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, standards of practice, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain knowledge of Ohio Department of Health laws and regulations; serve as a key contact during ODH surveys.
· Assist with admission, placement, and transfer of residents to appropriate care levels.
· Resolve problems referred by Charge Nurses when unresolved at lower levels.
· Serve as liaison and multidisciplinary team member among staff, administration, residents, families, physicians, and community members to maintain good rapport and public relations.
· Participate in various committees as assigned.
· Assist with Medicare A determinations and other insurance coverage.
· Recommend purchase of special supplies or equipment within budget constraints.
