Responsibilities Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students. Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student. Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify. To serve as LEA representative, provide information to school-based personnel and update staff on policy changes. Assist in developing appropriate IEPs, identifying, reporting, and correcting IDEA compliance internally to school-based leaderships. Participate in training programs offered to enhance and better communicate the skills and proficiency related to the ESE Department. To ensure adherence to rules and procedures mandated by federal, state and School policies. Educational Plan/Educational Plan (IEP/EP) team meetings, Mediations and Due Process Hearings to assure that procedures outlined in the Policies and Procedures for the Provision of Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services for Exceptional Students have been adhered to. Completes all required forms related to eligibility and placement of exceptional education and/or Section 504 students. Assists the IEP/EP team in identifying the range of placement options and determining the least restrictive environment. Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week Values Value the voices of all staff, families, and students Work in collaboration to meet the needs of all stakeholders Seek and respond well to feedback and collaborate to find solutions Qualifications and Experience An earned bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution; Florida certification in at least one area of exceptionality Provide support to general education teachers and students with disabilities to provide consultative instruction, as identified through each student's IEP. Student Success Metrics All students receiving speech-language services demonstrate measurable growth toward IEP goals 100% of IEPs and student records are compliant with IDEA, FERPA, and Medicaid documentation standards 100% of direct services are delivered in accordance with IEP minutes and timelines 90% or higher satisfaction among school partners and families regarding communication and service quality Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized tools to assess students for speech and language disorders Participate in referral, eligibility, and IEP processes to support appropriate service planning Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned to students' unique needs and educational goals Deliver direct and consultative services in individual and small-group settings across assigned campuses Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and other service providers to ensure integrated support for students Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to maximize growth Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with compliance requirements Provide support to families regarding home-based strategies and communication development Support Medicaid billing through timely and accurate documentation (training provided if needed) Stay current with evidence-based practices, state regulations, and professional licensure requirements Travel to campuses across Florida as needed to support students and participate in team meetings Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Special Populations department and network Values Value the voices of all staff, families, and students Work in collaboration to meet the needs of all stakeholders Seek and respond well to feedback and collaborate to find solutions Qualifications and Experience Required: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution Florida Department of Education certification in Speech-Language Impairment AND/OR Florida Educator Certificate in Speech/Language Impaired K-12 Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Preferred: Experience working in school-based settings or with charter school systems American Speech and Language- Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (preferred) Familiarity with Medicaid documentation processes Bilingual (English/Spanish) Knowledge and Skills Deep understanding of speech-language disorders and evidence-based interventions Working knowledge of IDEA, FERPA, and IEP compliance Strong documentation and data-tracking skills Commitment to inclusive practices and culturally responsive support Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication tools (preferred) Physical Requirements Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
