    Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, the Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of children in their assigned classroom. The teacher will collaborate with the Lead Teacher, Teaching Assistant, and Administrative Staff to develop and implement creative lesson plans. Key Responsibilities: Arrive to work, meetings, and trainings on time Develop, present, and evaluate appropriate lesson plans Supervise all classroom and daily routine activities Assist Lead Teacher and Teaching Assistant in all daily preparation work and clean-up Submit supply requests as needed Skills and Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience in lesson planning and classroom management Knowledge of child development principles -Patience and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting -Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment Requirements:Education, Experience, Training Requirements: CDA, Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Early Childhood or related field. Minimum of 3 months paid or volunteer experience in a childcare setting. Understanding of child developmental stages. CPR and First Aid Certification (required within first 6 months). Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, and squatting to engage with children at their level. Ability to lift 35-40 lbs, push/pull strollers or cribs, and carry classroom materials. Must walk and lead children on field trips and outings. Read written materials for classroom and administrative needs. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff both verbally and in writing. Supervise children in various indoor/outdoor environments and weather conditions. Programming and Compliance Requirements Knowledge of NYS Licensing Regulations and NAEYC accreditation standards. Arrange classroom environments to meet ITERS and ECERS quality standards. Promote inclusion, tolerance, and social responsibility using multicultural and anti-bias practices. Plan and organize field trips and community collaborations, ensuring child safety. Other Facts: Open Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-6:00 PM (closed on designated holidays) Reports to Lead Teacher

Demonstrate and support staff in data collection and monitoring techniques to exemplify empirical documentation of progress. Conduct initial and ongoing criterion-based assessments, ongoing preference assessments (with support from Coordinator/Department Head), and conduct alternate assessments with support from IEP coordinator. Meet regularly with colleagues and staff regarding new learning targets/goals for each student and input related to behavior management plans. Participate in the analysis of skill acquisition data and move targets as determined appropriate in team meetings lead by Coordinator/Department Head. Develop Individualized Education Plan (IEP) with support team, led by Coordinator/Department Head. Ensure the completion of all program documentation for program review and assessment, and reports and plans to meet state requirements. Schedule and deliver individual and classroom lessons to meet the needs of students. Manage classroom environment and component therein. Supervise, train and manage classroom staff including a teaching assistant, classroom aide and shared staff. Participate in introductory and ongoing learning opportunities and professional development activities as assigned and approved by supervisor, to include behaviorally based teaching strategies. Attend agency, faculty and student meetings. Demonstrate an understanding of and compliance with applicable regulatory procedures. Communicate progress to families Communicate in an ongoing, positive, and productive fashion with all members of students' team, including program managers to facilitate child learning across environments. Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements: Preferred: MA in Special Education or Education and NYS teaching certification. NYS Students with Disabilities credential. Applicant should have a strong behavioral background with autism and other developmental disabilities. Required BA in Special Education or Education NYS Teaching Certification Willingness and ability to obtain Students with Disabilities certification. Experience working with individuals in need of behavioral support is required. Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs. Be able to perform all physical interventions.
