HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Responsible for developing and executing cost optimization strategies across more than €380 million in logistics expenditures for the Tires organization in the Americas region. Scope includes freight, handling, PE distribution, and duties. The role contributes to the achievement of both short and mid-term strategic financial targets. Reports to the Head of Logistics Controlling for the Americas and functionally reports to the Head of Supply Chain for the Americas and based in Fort Mill, SC.
Serve as a strategic partner in driving performance management for Tire Logistics - Finished Goods throughout the Americas. This role focuses on delivering value creation and operational efficiency across all logistics functions, including ocean freight, warehousing, and distribution. The objective is to maintain optimal service levels for customers while minimizing costs.
Responsible for coordinating and following up on Monthly Logistics Controlling Review meetings with plants and Monthly Logistics Operational Meetings. This includes monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with logistics controlling standards, supporting variance analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Implement financial and cost control methodologies for transportation and warehouse management activities. Monitor logistics cost developments and provide management with insights into cost trends across all locations and Tire Business Units in the Americas region.
Support and drive efficiency improvements and warehouse footprint optimization initiatives. Actively contribute to planning and forecasting processes.
Lead process standardization efforts and define key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable benchmarking. Implement best practices in Logistics Controlling and evaluate logistics solutions to identify cost-saving opportunities. Conduct ad-hoc analyses to uncover efficiency gaps and challenge existing processes to ensure maximum operational effectiveness.
Track and harmonize logistics cost targets and KPIs across the Americas region to drive top-down performance improvements. Foster collaboration between Performance Management and warehouse/distribution teams, acting as a communication bridge between Supply Chain Management (SCM), Purchasing, and Finance/Controlling.
Lead the consolidation and reporting of Tire Gym initiatives, promoting best practices and facilitating role-play activities across markets.

As a key member of the Tax and Customs - The Americas team, you will oversee customs operations in the US and Canada, ensuring alignment with Continental Group policies while delivering compliant, business-oriented solutions. The Customs Compliance Manager & Business Partner - The Americas shares responsibility with regional peers for ensuring full regulatory compliance for import activities in the US and Canada.
Manage a robust trade compliance program & strategy
Manage SAP, OCR, ACE, and other trade compliance software as applicable
Ensure compliance for determination of HTS Codes (harmonized tariff codes) and issuance of certificates of origin for all products made in North America

Oversee the Export Operations for non-finished goods materials

Bachelor's degree, Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) (or working towards one) with 7+ years of relevant Customs work experience

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT The Logistics Analyst Internship will focus primarily on items for the company's logistics department in warehouse and transportation operations. Responsibilities include: * Audit transportation carrier detention and demurrage invoices and create monthly accrual file
* Create weekly warehouse throughput forecast
* Track and report detention / demurrage KPIs monthly, suggest actions to alleviate risks and costs
* Create monthly report on overage tires to scrap
* Compile weekly DC snapshot report to give top management an overview/summary of warehousing situation
* Weekly review of throughput volumes
* Assist with the shipping claim and freight audit process
* Will work with transportation management on finding lowest total cost transportation solutions, including both sea and land freight
* Create and update reporting on daily detention/demurrage spend
* Look for innovative and cost savings initiatives in the inbound transportation area
* Will focus on minimizing detention and demurrage costs for incoming product from both domestic and foreign plants
* Track warehouse throughput daily
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
* Currently enrolled in a US accredited degree program for at least another 12 months and can dedicate 12 months toward this internship
* Student working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing Analytics, Business Administration, Data Science or another related field
